Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Dark room behind of restaurant - 4 beds room. You have to count with this and use only for 1 night - 2 max.

It was a little bit noisy from the terrace
The stuff is very helpful and arranged a taxi for us at 2 am. The even offered to pack us the breakfast because we had an night flight.

The street was very busy with locals and road works.
Good for an overnight stay, arriving early in the morning from the airport. We stayed two nights visiting Stone Town the following day. The food was Ok and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

The location is perfect to an early flight , just 5 min by car and you could walk if you need it ! Air con , hot shower and WiFi working. My flight was 5:00 am and they gave us a take away breakfast, eggs, pancakes, bread … etc…

No complaints.
They were willing to accommodate our very late arrival after midnight. The breakfast was good with very nice juice and cappuccino. We could also leave our luggage there the next day. We enjoyed a very delicious meal when we collected our luggage.

The best decision we made was to book one night here upon landing at 2am. It made the drive to the resort in the morning a breeze.

The restaurant had flies everywhere, I could not eat in peace. They should do something about it. The TVs were not working in all rooms.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and quiet.

The fries/chips ordered were soggy.
It was ok. Location to the airport was the reason I opted for this hotel. My flight was at dawn, so it served me well.

there could have been a comfortable chair and a second chair so one can leave clothes on it. The room was big enough. Not enough connection points. Lighting was not good but as I was there for only one night it was not a problem
it was walking distance from the airport. The room was reasonably clean.

Rooms are a bit cave like with no look through windows
Great location near the airport. We were able to walk. Really enjoyed good coffee, bread and pizza! Helpful staff, cafe environment with lots of soccer on the big screen. Good wifi and AC

Rooms a bit cave-like with no outside windows
Convenient to airport. We were able to walk the short distance. Appreciated the good bread, coffee and pizza. Very helpful staff. Nice cafe atmosphere with good wifi, good AC.

It seems I didn't find anything that I didn't like about the hotel.
Good location, close to the Zanzibar international airport. Easy to walk to the airport with no rush. The room was very clean. The staff were friendly.

Staff generally weren't very helpful, offers for food were no longer available, tried to overcharge us for ice cream, kids party was very noisy until about 8pm
Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom facilities worked well, location near airport was great, WiFi was decent, seating area was nice, organised breakfast for us at 230am and organised a taxi for 3am

It would have been great if the airport hotel offered a free shuttle service - its very close to the airport (3 min drive) but not great to walk when its dark and with suitcases.
The airport hotel was very convenient and close to the airport. The room was clean and the communal areas were nice. They prepared us a nice take away breakfast that we could bring to the airport, since we had such an early morning flight.

Breakfast wasn't anything to write home about, but you get what you pay for! There was some road noise, but that was to be expected due to the hotel's location. No mosquito nets provided.
Budget hotel close to the airport, perfect for our arrival in Zanzibar in the early hours. Great communication re. airport transfer with quick responses. A taxi driver was waiting for us at 1am as arranged. Nice inner courtyard with some trees and plants. We loved the resident cats and kittens!
