Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room was big and the bed really comfortable. The hotelstaff was very nice to me. They stocked up my room because they had a better one left and called for me to the Hospital when i had a problem. They even drove me to this hospital in the middle of the night. Very good experience there!

If you are staying in one of the cheaper rooms, expect to have no windows. But the rooms have enough ventilation through the bathroom windows
The location was great and the room was ok. The owner of the hotel was really friendly and we managed to extend my night without any issues.

Property is a bit dated but the location, price and team make up for it.
This hotel is in a great location within walking distance of most of the attractions in Hanoi. Lam and his team Kièn, Mai & Tuèn are amazing. Always super friendly and always greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. I booked 4 trips with the hotel and they were excellent. Was sad to leave, and I would highly recommend for a great base in the heart of Hanoi and for tours. Thank you, Lam, and to your team for making my stay a memorable one.

If anything to complain, it was a bit cold in March, but this the case everywhere in the hotels in Hanoi (we were at 3 hotels).
1. Room was very spacious. 2. Enthusiastic receptionist, who could arrange all tours we needed, including Ha Long. 3. Reception helped us very early in the morning with delicious Vietnamese breakfast and showed us how to manage quick shopping before going to Ha Long.

Room was a lot smaller compared to images No door on shower to close so bathroom floor was easily soaked
Staff were so lovely and even offered to keep our luggage as we headed off to do the ha giang loop. Close to all the main streets so it can be quite noisy at night time but in walking distance to the markets and lots of restaurants & pubs

Characterful old building in middle of Old Quarter, easy to walk to locations or get a Grab. Just beside a square (with coffee shops), so not as hemmed in as other hotels. Rooms with views are a very decent size. Lovely helpful owners, and there’s a travel agents in the lobby for picking trips. Would happily recommend.

The cleanliness and the room is quite old. The listing also mentioned welcome drinks and fresh fruits every day. However, there were none.
The location and the staff. It is very near the weekend night market and very close to most landmarks. They were very welcoming and the owner is too kind.

Showers were sometimes cold
We stayed here during tet and had a pleasant stay so contacted the manager, Lam to ask if they had availability so we could stay again when we returned to Hanoi. The rooms were clean, comfortable and a good size and the staff were friendly.

Traffic noise but we soon got used to it. And don't try to drive, the roads are crazy
What a wonderful experience ❤️ the staff are amazing and nothing was too much trouble, the room is massive and as pur 1st visit to Vietnam I would honestly say GO there, its a different world from quiet old England,
