Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. United KingdomSmall things but...We wish the pool was heated, it's a lovely spot but being quite cold meant it was really hard to enjoy it and feel fully relaxed. We'd have spent loads more time in it if it was warmer. Also, the bathroom in our room had a sliding door, not necessarily great for anyone who likes things a little quieter between the bathroom and bedroom - but that's us being super picky.
We fell in love with Maison Du Cap, from the little touches (home made cake and wine on arrival) to the out of this world breakfast (tip.. don't fill yourself up on the buffet before the cooked stuff!) - Millicent and her staff went above and beyond to fulfill the boutique hotel experience. Our room was a decent size, with a handy fridge, and the bed was very comfortable (as were the sun beds by the pool). Netflix was a nice late night touch after coming back from a night out and we loved that our doors opened onto the pool area too. A great location, one road back from the main high street. We'd recommend Hussar Grill and Tuk Tuk microbrewery for nearby spots, the wine tram is a must too. Super close to everything you need whilst being incredibly quiet. Ubers didn't take long to get to us, and there was also a full list of trips that you could make via the hotel themselves. Will definitely look to book again!

United KingdomWhat's not to like? It's perfect!
Fabulous guest house. Perfectly located close to shops and restaurants but still quiet, it being a street away. Room was exceptional and staff were polite, helpful and cheerful. Millicent gave us a very warm welcome on our arrival. The addition of complimentary homemade cake and coffee in the afternoon was very welcome. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in the future and have already recommended it to friends. We had an amazing stay - we just wish we had booked for four days instead of two.

We were given the honeymoon suite and it was amazing! Really felt that staff went above and beyond with extra touches. Bed was very comfortable and loved the small private pool and terrace area. Breakfast was delicious and venue was just off the back of the main strip. Can't see us staying anywhere else on future visits!

This was a return visit & we were pleasantly surprised to find a lovely letter & the gift of a wrapped candle & a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine welcoming us back on our return visit - what a lovely touch! We were thrilled with the room which looked out onto the lovely pool & well kept garden. We noticed that the owner, Anne Marie, continues to re-invest in the property, for example there were some lovely large potted plants around the pool & in the garden & dining area, & a lovely classy canopy directly above the external breakfast area providing relief from the sun, which were not there last year. Our bathroom had been modernised & re-tiled too! As per last year we used the pool area which offers a delightful & tranquil, calming space to relax after visiting the many shops & lunching on Franschhoeks' Main Street! It was wonderful! One of the equally impressive aspects of Maison du Cap are the EXCEPTIONAL Team who work so hard but make it appear effortless to ensure every aspect of our stay was perfect! Thank you SO much to the wonderful Millicent, Diane and Zoleka and also Sam the Gardener! We sadly missed Busi and Molly from last year and we hope they will return soon. The breakfast selection and exceptional variety of locally sourced delicious and high quality foods were second to none and the quality of the freshly prepared cooked breakfast remain stand out and really set us up for the day! We also enjoyed the home baked cookies this year! We have not seen any such breakfasts on our trips along the Garden Route - Ever! Unforgettable & stand out is also Millicent's awesome home baked & complimentary huge Lemon Drizzel & Chocolate Cakes, one of which would appear around 4pm each day for Guests to help themselves! Top quality rooms, individually interior designed in contemporary & classy styles, complete with luxurious robes & slippers. What more can you ask for?!

We loved the design and style of Maison de Cap! Room is spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The host Milliscent is an absolute darling who’s always happy to help you. She helped us a lot with our car trouble. Many thanks to her! Each afternoon there’s complimentary coffee, tea and homemade pie which are delicious. The fresh breakfast in the morning made us really happy. Location is absolutely perfect. Within walking distance of great restaurants and Franschhoek center.

GermanyThe generator noise of the restaurant and the Checkers next door. But of course, nothing can be done here.
This is by far one of the most beautiful places in Franschhoek we have seen. A stunning boutique hotel right near all the happenings, this is an oasis of 5 individually decorated rooms. Room number 4 is the suite with the private pool separated from everything else, a spacious marble bathroom and a free mini bar. We were welcomed with fresh flowers and a complimentary bottle of wine, freshly baked cookies and the mini bar is also complimentary. Coffee and cake are served every day at 4 pm and breakfast is delicious and extraordinary. This place is VERY clean and cozy, the main pool is large and you can swim labs, comfortable lounge chairs and sun beds invite you to relax in the sun. This is a rare find in Franschhoek where everything is usually cramped in. Staff is super helpful and friendly, yet very discreet. The outdoor area where breakfast is usually served is stunning as well. Good internet and free parking right in front of the house.

United KingdomFrom the moment we arrived the stuff were excellent. Friendly, approachable, helpful and just so lovely. The rooms are beautiful, the pool is exquisite and captures the sun from morning till night with shade if you require. It is so clean in the pool and around the area. The breakfast is just the best we have had… I would highly recommend this place and would return if we are ever staying in the area again.

United KingdomOur room was a little on the smaller side, but it had everything we needed. The pool was very ‘refreshing’ (cold!) but fine once you are in.
We have a lovely room that opened straight onto the pool deck. Everyone was very friendly and the breakfast was tasty. We also enjoyed the afternoon tea and cake that is put out every day. The location is great with multiple restaurants within a short walk.

United KingdomWe booked the cheapest room which I found a little small for a 4 day stay. Definitely worth upgrading to a larger room if possible. There was no safe in our room which was difficult for us. Also the curtains on the loungers were not available during our stay and therefore I couldn’t enjoy this area, due to skin care issues. However I was informed that this will be rectified soon.
Fantastic breakfast, with a homemade cake and coffee in the afternoon for guests. Thanks Milliscent for your care and attention to us. Great location, just a few steps from Franschhoek Main Street with plenty of excellent restaurants and shops. Overall, a very comfortable hotel and one which I would certainly book in the future. Security is paramount here. Parking on site.
