The location sent to us lost us until we navigated our own way, the road towards the house is not great at all, the place is too far from shops, we didn't have matches and we called Lynette to ask for a gad ligter and we were told it's a self catering place but later provided us with the gas lighter... No animals insigt near the lodge, only the ostrich.... Safe was not working at all, kept making a beeping sound.... No boardgames except the Afrikaans one we couldn't use.

The place is clean and spacious, loved that the chalets are far apart which is good for privacy, great place to unwind, relax, bond and catch up.... Ice maker was available.... The outside showers... Available electric blankets

The water, a day before we left it had black things and we only saw that in the morning on a Monday.

I like the whole place, animals around and the environment itself was very nice

Communication is horrible now especially because we are requesting our refund of the deposit. It was initially bad because of network issues especially in the park. But Lynette is not answering our calls and text messages regarding our refund. This is so disappointing, after the wonderful time we had there ...

I like that the place was tranquil and habitable.

I could do with a bigger bed. Double, normal length bed is a bit uncomfortable.

I travelled with my wife, kids and grandchildren and we had good time. The Lodge was well kept, neat, spacious, peaceful and the bush still held its beauty despite the large fire devastation in Mabalingwe. I sincerely hope the rains come in soon enough. The wild life and forestation desperately need the rain to recover. We will be back. Thank you.

    1. Accomodation not suitable for small kids (i.e. Kids cannot be in one chalet with parents, due to lack of bed availability.) 2. A pool net for kids' safety will be a good consideration. 3. Both sun ambrella's were not fully functional. 4. A small generator should be considered for essential purposes during loadshedding.

    1. Very spacious accommodation. 2. Seperate private chalets. 3. Owners reacted quickly when we mentioned that the one shower was faulty and replaced it the same day.

The accommodation was clean and very comfortable. We loved the layout with the bedrooms being separate from the living area. Made nap time easier for the little ones and the “night owls”. We contacted Lynette for some extra wood on Saturday and they were very quick to deliver. We had an awesome time and the fact that we could bring along our Staffie was the cherry on the cake.

The owner/host communication was non existent regarding how to get to the property or what to expect when we get there . The GPS took us to a gravel road which was about 18km and the road was bad for a low profile car we even had a puncture. A day after we were told that there is a better road even though it’s quite a distance. The property is very far from shops, game drives, restaurant and spa. It is better to stay in the whole stay or book a game drive car to drive around if you are lazy to drive or if you don’t have a bigger car. Petrus who is the staff member made our stay great. He welcomed us and was very kind. He helped us with changing our tyre and explained everything about the place and how to get around. He also ensured we are safe by coming to check on us as we were a female group. The host’s son Eweld was also friendly and ensured we were accompanied when we left the property to ensure we do not get lost.

I cannot fault the property. It was very clean and had everything we wanted in terms of amenities. The animals are roaming around the property which was awesome. The outdoor shower was a cherry on top. The is no network but there is wifi.

To get your breakage deposit is a nightmare with messages unanswered for days, you have to keep on calling for days which is annoying. They charge cleaning fee with the booking, however we were advised that cleaning service will be provided at R250 charge which seemed like we have to pay for it.

    The property is beautiful

I booked this place with my friends for the weekend of 23 September 2022. A guy called Henry collected a breakage deposit of R2000 when we arrived and now he and Lynette refuse to refund us because we arrived late for check in and she claimed she needed 7 days to inspect the place. I still don’t have the money even after texting her countless times. Clearly this is not contractually correct and she refuses to accept the obvious obligation to return the funds.

The swimming pool water was freezing. No board games except one Afrikaans one that was there.

Private house located inside Mabalingwe, one of the largest Nature reserves in SA. The house offers excellent privacy as it is in a plot of land by itself. A separate and very open living area with 4 separate chalets all of which are included in the booking. Each Chalet has a shower AND an outdoor shower each with its own geyser so no running out of hot water. Theres white Linen and towels so you know they're clean. There is a dishwasher
