We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

South AfricaExtremely slippery shower floor which can be dangerous (I mentioned this at reception when checking out). But I think the biggest disappointment (and frustration) was that nowhere was it stated that most of the facilities including restaurants would be closed. As we didn't want to drive off the premises, we had no choice but to use the only open restaurant on the premises despite it being a considerable walk from our room on the other side of the hotel (I am mobility impaired so it takes me forever to cross distance). But none the less, everything else was good.
Oh what a super comfortable bed - and such quiet peaceful surroundings with amazing views. Super friendly staff all round from the porter, to check-in, to the restaurant (only ONE open), and breakfast. Good amenities overall. Food was great (had pizza at Herolds Bistro) and nice selection for breakfast.

South AfricaThis time we definitely noticed the hotel struggled with maintenance. the hotel is old, furniture and interior is old , wear and tear is evident. the room wasn’t cleaned property, especially the carpet. the walkways/tiles needs proper cleaning. Herolds restaurant was a total disappointment. The lack of Quality Control/ supervision over Room cleaning/service and Breakfast (checking stations) has negative consequences and causes frustration. Construction/maintenance in progress outside at the patio.
we are returning guests knowing it offers good value as a 4star hotel. we always enjoyed the good breakfast, the spacious room, and located close to Heroldsbay beach - it all contributed to rest.

South AfricaThe spa facilities needs an upgrade, overall comparing it to the standards of the hotel it does not meet the expectations of the hotel. For guests that work later than 5 it is not possible to relax and enjoy in the spa as it closes at 5pm.
Oubaai is a beautiful place, the pool is beautiful and peaceful. The room was refreshed once a day and stocked with new water/teas/coffees. Super comfortable bed and a beautiful bath to relax in. We loved breakfast and all the options it offered.
