We arrived at 10 pm in loadshedding. We were surprised that the hotel had no generator. Not even emergency lighting. We were shown to our room by torch light and given a battery lamp to manage with.

Loved the location. Close to the V&A. Friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable bed and good choice of breakfast. Room 5 with a balcony and plunge pool. Very quiet and spacious.

The room allocated was under the stairs like a Harry Potter room it was tiny, dark, smelt damp and had an awkward layout. The floor had a step to get up out of the room as they were at two different levels. In the night I walked into the wooden step as there is nothing highlighting that it is there, breaking my my toe. By the morning it was black and blue and painful to the extent I could not wear a shoe, this was the first day on my holiday. Showing the hotel, and discussing this with them, they could not have cared at all, almost shrugged their shoulders and said well nothing we can do. The manager at the front desk needs training in empathy, understanding and customer service. Nothing was offered in the way of compensation for the terrible room, The Harry Potter room should not be used for accommodation period.

The food is amazing and the staff at the Mediterranean Resturant are very accommodating, friendly and courteous.

they were servicing the private pool, it was loud or out if use and there was no acknowledgement of this. they just left all the cleaning supplies floating in the pool and never came back to deal with it.

The breakfast was a very limited menu and if you want something extra you needed to pay for even just chillies. We were always served cold breakfast, eggs were burnt on the edges even if you ordered medium.

The parking was very small so you could fit 3-4 small cars only. Otherwise you park on the street.

The room exceeded my expectations. It was larger than I expected and had a fantastic balcony with a little private pool. The bed was enormous!! The bathroom was clean and also larger than most. Breakfast the next morning was good and I I really liked the restaurant set up. Zara, the owner's Labrador, was there to greet us at reception every morning which is guaranteed to put you in a good mood for the day. Loved this little boutique hotel!

The breakfast was included on our price and we heard that Benedict eggs were great. However, we didn't like the Hollandaise sauce on them as it was so vinegary. We also found that the breakfast was poor and it was missing some juice and fruit.

The best thing was the room, which was huge. We had a massive bathroom with both bath and shower and a separated toilet. The bed was also really big and sooo comfy.

I wasn't sure about their breakfast.Tasted good, however, It is too limited, no variety, it felt strict and covid-era like. Offering a full English breakfast or other alternatives has never been a terrible idea.

Great petit hotel. Staff was awesome. Well located for someone who wants to go anywhere and everywhere in an around Cape Town.

I had really enjoyed the experience until the frontdesk staff said (while we were reversing out), he forgot to tell us that we can't take the room sanitizer and shower gel. We took neither - he then called since we left behind a jacket and reminded me that they cannot find the sanitizer. Firstly, don't shout it to guests as they're reversing out. If it is some sort of strict policy, make them aware at the start. Also, through decades in the hotel industry, the mini cosmetics are there for guests to use and part of the price. Secondly, I have no clue what this room sanitizer looks like, we have our own to use! It felt as if we were being accused of taking this sanitizer, but honestly, we saw nothing of the sort in the room! I would suggest a book in the room that tells guests what to do or who to call for room service and includes the menu, because we didn't know it was possible til we asked at the restaurant. The restaurant deck area was also not 100% spotless - cigarette butts in the pot plant etc.

The room was nice, comfortable and neat. The spa treatment was great and I loved how I was treated. We found the restaurant staff to be friendly.
