Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

South AfricaThe little cottage we stayed in was so cute and cozy. Perfect for 2 people. The decor was beautiful and welcoming. With a little fireplace and a view onto the dam.

South AfricaOur stay at Wyford farm was fantastic! The farm itself is lovely with great access to fishing and hiking. The cottages are well-equipped and very clean and comfortable. Cecile was also an absolutely wonderful host and we look forward to staying again in the future.

South AfricaMaybe just a better access road? I think it will be a problem if it rains a lot.
It was everything I wanted and so much more. It will be our stopover from now on. It was a highlight of our road trip down to the South Coast

South AfricaNothing could have been better. It was a very comfortable stay and we enjoyed the outdoor.
The property is on a working farm which is marvelous if you like outdoor walks and interacting with farm animals. The cottage we stayed in was very comfortable and there is an outdoor braai.

South AfricaThe only fault, which is no fault of the establishment, is inaccurate information on the booking.com site. It states that this chalet comes with an indoor fireplace and hot tub. There is no hot tub in this unit, and there never has been. The owner was most surprised when I asked where it was. This info needs to be amended on booking.com.
We are a couple traveling with our dog, and this beautiful stone cottage was perfect for the three of us. We loved the isolation and feeling of being alone in nature. The garden is enclosed to ensure the safety of our dog, and the owner went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable. Full marks. We will definitely be back in winter when we can make use of the beautiful lounge fireplace.

The cottage was spotless, with a lovely ambience. It had every appliance one might need for self catering. The beds very comfortable. Hiking and walking facilities seem well set out (we didn't because of rain). Real farm life - super!

South AfricaThe outside braai area is lovely, but with the flat roof over it, we got completely smoked out. We however understand the necessity of having a covered area for a braai
It is a very special place that we'll definitely visit again. The accommodation was comfortable and well equipped. It's a beautiful working farm and we especially enjoyed the horse ride and exploring the farm on foot.

South AfricaThere could be more shelves in the kitchen to put food. The area was really tiny to work in. A gas stove would be useful especially with the load shedding issues
The location was wonderful and peaceful. Beautiful view of valley and mountains

South AfricaHad a wonderful, restful 3 night stay at Wyford farm in their Poplar Chalet. A lovely rustic cottage where we had our own privacy and it was lovely. Perfect place to go if you just want to chill with your loved ones. Plenty of wood can be bought for your braai or indoor log fire. Our host Cecile was such a nice lady and very accommodating. We bought some homemade chilli sauce and curried beans. Both were very good. We really enjoyed our stay.

South AfricaIt would have been nice if the lawn had been mowed in the enclosed garden where we stayed. Obviously I would not expect the fields to be mown but the grass was very long in the garden. Of course, to be fair, we stayed early in January so maybe the gardener had not yet returned from leave.
The setting is beautiful and very rural. It is a working farm so guests must expect cows, horses, geese and goats. The cottage is very solidly built in stone and the beds were very comfortable. The linen seems new. We are travelling with our dog and the dog was totally safe in our private enclosed area. This is a good place to stay if you want to give your children experience with farm life. It is reasonably priced and the owners leave fresh milk in the fridge.
