Offering a barbecue and ski storage space, AIBIYA is located in Yamanouchi in the Nagano Region, 4.1 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park. I can't begin to describe how good my stay was here. The accommodations were amazing. The room was warm and cozy. The building was beautiful and looked new and clean but, had the charm of an old traditional Japanese home. I came to snowboard and they had a room to store and dry all my wet gear. They were able to handle shipping my snowboard to and from the airport with Yamato transport. There is a direct bus to and from Shiga Kogen every day as well. There is not an onsen on site but, you can buy tickets to various local onsens, all of which were spectacular. All onsens had an indoor and outdoor bath. Breakfast was served every morning and, it was great to eat and chat with other travelers. Truly, the best part about staying here was the owners themselves. Yoshi and Seong-mi were two of the kindest, most friendly people I've encountered on any of my trips across the world. They made my experience feel like I was staying with my brother and sister. In fact, the whole town of Yudanaka felt like home to me and, I know this is a place I will never forget for the rest of my life.

Offering views of the mountain, Koya Backpackers is located in Karuizawa, 5 km from Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza. Free private parking is available on site. Rooms have a shared bathroom. Great host who gave us tips for our stay and looked after us like we were old friends. Convenient location, immaculately clean and great meals on offer.

Guest House Raicho offers accommodation in Norikura Kogen in Chubu Sangaku National Park. Mt. comfortable room with great mattress spacious common spaces with 2 kitchens garage for our bicycles we particularly liked all the environmental friendly notes: bento for breakfast in reusable boxes, soaps, etc… rental materials (bikes, snowshoes, etc) and the area make us want to come back on every season!

Located in the historical Shibu Onsen district, 渋温泉小石屋旅館 offers both private and dormitory-style guest rooms as well as an on-site restaurant where local dishes, wines and craft beers are available. It's a traditional style Japanese ryokan. The room was very clean and with a good space. The hotel provides towels, yukatas and traditional sandals which can be used to tour the onsens in the village. Overall good fun. There is a cafe/restaurant in-house (the longest opening hours in the village). The staff were really helpful and friendly - providing free shuttle services to station, other onsens in the area, and snow monkeys park.

Pension Ringo-no Ki is a completely non-smoking property located in Hakuba. Free WiFi access is available in this lodge. There is a hairdryer, free toiletries and slippers on site. Our hosts were so inviting and friendly. The place is beautiful with cosy and comfortable rooms. Would definitely stay again!

A 15-minute drive from Pilatus Ski Resort, chalet-like Nomanomori offers quaint Western rooms. It features a garden with a terrace, free Wi-Fi and a cosy lounge with a fireplace. The breakfast is excellent with home make bread and jams.

Our hosts were a lovely couple who took the time to make us feel extremely welcome. The care and attention to detail were beyond anything we have experienced previously. The Japanese breakfast was exquisitely presented. The building was beautiful, and the surround gardens were tranquil with lots of bird sounds. We will definitely choose to stay here again.

역사적인 토가쿠시 신사(Togakushi Shrine)에서 도보로 단 5분 거리에 있는 Oshi Ryokan은 순례자 음식을 만드는 곳으로 사용되었던 전통 숙박 시설로, 평화로운 산악 지역에 위치해 있습니다. 250년 된 본관은 초가지붕으로 되어 있습니다. 투숙객은 별관 건물에 있는 일본식 객실에서 주무시게 됩니다. Wonderful traditional ryokan owned by the Oshi family for 200 years. I stayed in a spacious tatami room on the ground floor with beautiful views of the garden. Very peaceful to sit and stare outside. Delicious breakfast and dinner add on options and a very friendly host who made me feel like I was in a second home. Will definitely be returning again. The ryokan is conveniently located steps from the bus stop and takes about 1 hr on a direct bus from Nagano station. It's 3 mins walk from the steps of the first of five shrines (lower shrine) of Togakuji so I highly recommend completing the Togakuji "pilgrimage" trail to see all of them. Beautiful 300+ yr old cedar trees line the paths. Togakuji is the birthplace of soba noodles and beside Chusa Otorii (middle shrine) is the #1 soba noodles restaurant, Uzuraya. There are long wait times at the restaurant so I put my name down at Uzuraya on my way up on the hike and it was ready by the time I returned to dine right away. It was around a 3 hr roundtrip hike from the ryokan or 4-5 hrs with breaks and lunch. Great way to explore the area.

Absolutely amazing stay. So glad we found this little gem for our stay in karuizawa, couldn't imagine having stayed elsewhere, only regret we have is we couldn't stay longer. Unique country house hotel with amazing food and even better hosts, thank you Chris and Judy and all the staff at Hotel Wellies for everything. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.

The staff gave us a very warm welcome. They were friendly, attentive and highly courteous. The ryokan was charming, centrally located and right on the river. Our room and the baths were lovely. The freshly brewed coffee for guests in the morning was much appreciated on such a snowy morning.
