Our stay at Paddock View as without fault and I have no hesitation in giving it the highest praise. We spent one night here while visiting the Badminton Horse Trials. The property is very comfortable and decorated to the highest standards.

The hotel and the surrounding area are well worth the trip. We stayed in one of the cottages which was renovated to and excellent standard maintaining original features. The gardens are interesting. I declined to be shown to the cottage but would recommend being taken to the one given as the allocated one was not obvious.

The Hotel is not in Castle Combe itself.
The Hotel is not in Castle Combe itself. It is a short drive away from Castle Combe up a very narrow one track road. The hotel is wonderful and we had a great dinner meal there. Not so fussed about breakfast. We did not want a cooked breakfast and the breakfast bar itself could have been improved.

One of my favourite locations in all of the UK, I have not been back in 29 years and the village has lost no charm at all.
Hot chocolate and cake from a friendly gentleman in the village was perfect on the wet day that we visited.

I loved Castle Combe.
I loved Castle Combe. It’s a really picturesque town great for photos. If you’re there for longer than a couple of hours then the walking tracks surrounding the town are exceptional, especially during autumn. So many amazing walking trails and leafy pathways and wild blackberries all along the tracks. I spent ages just walking around. It’s even nice to just sit under a tree in front of the Manor with a book.
If you plan on taking public transport then make sure you plan getting there and leaving carefully. Public transport didn’t run there on the day I planned to go so I had to take an Uber there, but then getting an Uber out of the town is not an option (unless you’re very lucky). So just don’t take an Uber into the town on a Sunday if you’re also planning on leaving on Sunday or you might find yourself stranded.
There are buses that come but only a couple a day, and some are a bit of a distance from the city centre and you’re likely to lose phone reception if you try and walk to those stops.. so plan ahead wisely. But there should be a bus that comes right to the city centre- just don’t miss it!
P.S If you go for a walk outside of the main town make sure to find the Hollow! The little fairy house hidden in a log, inside it you’ll find a book where you can sign your name :)

Beautiful village.
Beautiful village.
I loved every minute of my stay however, 1 day is more than enough to explore the whole village.
The bridge, church and Manor house is a must see.
Foot at Castle inn was amazing.
Parking is available but public car park is some distance away.
I cannot fault this beautiful village.
Our first time visiting the cotswolds and so glad we chosen Paddock View! It was beautiful and airy in all the rooms with lots of daylight, comfortable living area and bed, the surroundings were beautiful, not much of a walk to Castle Combe. The little touches didn’t go unnoticed either like the cotton pads and buds in the bedroom, the teas, coffees & milk available upon arrival plus choice of cereals. Really lovely and would definitely stay again!
This place is a dream ! Very well located, just a few steps from the center of Castle Combe, this house seems coming from a fairytale. The exteriors are lovely, with a little space for the car. Inside, what a surprise for us to see how equipated it was ! All you need is inside, to enjoy a peaceful night. It’s very cosy you feel like at home. And I think it could be very lovely during winter !
Lovely village pub, very smart rooms with lovely touches, like properly decent toiletries, snack pack, coffee machine and ironing boards. Far better standard than a lot of hotels that I've stayed in at twice the price. The food was excellent quality and great value, with breakfast from 0730 so that I could get out for work. Parking was free and adjacent. Exceptional value for the price.
Room is clean. I didn't give it 10/10 simply because it is not my taste. but it's wonderful for anyone who want to try country side style. the room is well design and furnished. dinner is on. I didn't have much after a long day driving. Breakfast is wonderful. Before it, we have a circular walk via Castle Combe (best time to visit). We had cold and hot, enjoy it very much.
Food is great, if pricey. The location is quiet and beautiful yet convenient to Bath and just off the main road. Pub has a lovely feel, although the bar is a little small with only 4 tables available. Room nicely decorated with extra touches like coffee machine which were welcome. Good walks, particularly to Castle Combe. Loved the mill stream.
The room was clean and full of personality. The shower was really amazing and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was nicely cooked but no sweet cooked options were available on the menu. The location is great if you like to walk as it takes roughly 1h and a half to get to Castle Combe crossing through the beautiful countryside.
Very convenient location; just a couple of minutes on foot from the main village. The property was superb. The host was in excellent communication and offered very helpful info & advice prior to our arrival. I wouldn't hesitate to go back and I'd totally recommend staying at The Old Museum!
Absolutely loved this property! Stunning rooms, so comfortable, excellently presented. Six of us enjoyed our stay and spent a lot of time in the hot tub! Kitchen and dinning is well stocked. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay right in the centre in Castle Combe. Treat yourself!
A quintessentially English cottage in a beautiful village. Very well equipped and comfortable with a well stocked Kitchen. The vaulted cathedral ceiling in the Master Bedroom with a four poster bed completed our wonderful relaxing vacation in the Cotswolds.
The Castle Inn is a clean and tidy hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is situated in a peaceful location, which adds to the overall charm of the place. The hotel is well-maintained, which ensures a pleasant stay for guests.
Great property, and great location.
If you are looking to get away for a quiet weekend within walking distance of Castle Combe, then this is the perfect place!
And as a bonus, you get a wonderful view of the Ponies in the Paddock!
The location of the White Hart is very tranquil and allows for a relaxing break or a base from which to travel. The pub itself is a hidden gem and the food menu compliments the ambience of the establishment
The dinner was truly excellent. Followed the set menu with wine pairing and it was fabulous. Both food and service could not have been better and made the stay very worth while for us both.
Outdoor spa was great. Very beautifully decorated sleeping and bathrooms areas. Close walk ~15min to castle Combe. All the items you’d need to comfortably stay here for a few nights.
We absolutely loved our stay here. We came on a whim and had the best time imaginable. The property and area around it was wonderful and dreamy and more than we could've asked for.
Bathroom was really well done. The king bed was very comfortable. The ambiance v was lovely. The Castle Inn restaurant offered a nice selection for dinner.
