We went there in the dead of winter so it was quiet...we have also gone in the summer and that is when this place comes to life. There are plenty of bars and resturaunts and bars to choose from. Also there is a small amusement park for children. Large choice of motels to choose from, everything is within walking distance.

Old Orchard Beach has been a favorite destination for us for years. It's a perfect crescent beach with an awesome sandy beach, a lighthouse on the right point and a pier and a great amusement area in the middle. If you're an early riser, the sunrise on the beach is a perfect way to start the day.
We typically visit off season when the rates go down, which means some of the businesses aren't open, but we enjoy not having to fight the crowds.
There are a LOT of good restaurants within a few miles drive, but Joseph's by the Sea on West Grand Ave is an amazing restaurant with a spectacular ocean view and conveniently on the trolley line. Our party's of 5 are still raving about our meals and especially the cocktails!

There was nothing about this property we enjoyed.
There was nothing about this property we enjoyed. The pictures of the rooms were misleading and we ended up with a room that was old, smelled like mold and the carpet was damp. I would never return. It was a total rip off for what we paid!

The family friendly Beach is perfect for long days of sunning and waves. A perfect place to enjoy your summer days. The pier that extended 500 feet into the ocean has so many things to see. The water was amazing and with a boogie board the kids were entertained all day. Catch the ocean with the sunrise is my favorite. Dogs play in the ocean as the tides come in. The quietness allows you to hear the waves come in and out. Nothing to worry about as the sand is easy to walk along for miles.

Given that the property is a little bit of a distance from the pier the fact that the trolley stops right out front was awesome. The access to the beach was perfect. The pool was a lot of fun. Our room was great. Just what you would expect for old orchard beach. Our view of the ocean from our room made mornings nice and relaxing. We liked the fact the property was further from the hustle and bustle of the pier. It made our beach time more enjoyable, less crowded. This was our first time staying here and would absolutely stay again.
Inn was fine -- pretty much what we expected from the description. 1950s beach town motel -- very cramped property, room and furnishings showed their age, but as said what we expected. the one thing that surprised us was how far the inn was from the town center -- but that was a good thing -- meant we weren't right in the heart of the crowds. but the town of Old Orchard Beach turned out to be very disappointing -- we were told it was a good beach town, but it came across as very sleazy.
Everything was absolutely perfect!! Gorgeous location with abundant lovely outdoor areas to sit, eat, enjoy the ocean view!! The beach is your front yard. The rooms are well appointed, the beds are extremely comfortable, and everything is so quiet and peaceful. Everything you could possible want is easily walkable, without being too close to the bustle of the pier. We will be back to stay again and again whenever we are in Old Orchard Beach!!
The room was spacious. The bed was very comfortable as was the entire room. The staff was kind & courteous. I had never stayed at this resort before, I highly recommend it! It’s close to Palace Playland, and also the beach! A great location, a great hotel with amazing rooms, great staff & wonderful amenities! The Wi-Fi worked, there was a pool & hot tub. I’d definitely stay there again!!
When we got married in September, 1987 we went to Maine and stayed at Old Colonial for our Honeymoon. We have stayed several more times over the years most recently this year. One year we tried another hotel and were disappointed so immediately went back Old Colonial. Great staff and the updates to the rooms are amazing. We will be back whenever we go to OOB for sure!
It was convenient to park right on the premises. Our room faced the ocean and heard the ocean waves all night. Room was comfortable. Do not expect high end amenities. This is a beachfront hotel. No AC, could not get the TV to work, small fridge had a freezer in desperate need of defrosting. Stayed 1 night and it was just right.
The beach-front location of the motel is amazing. Staying in the patio, we really have got a great time with so nice view. We would like to stay the beach front room next time, as our room has not been in front of the beach.
The hotel manager and the staff are very friendly. They always gave us their big smiles. THANK YOU!
Place was great Older But kept up well. Super clean location excellent from Old Orchard Beach. Close to Jumpin Jake bar and grill Excellent food and reasonable for the area. The front office staff very friendly and willing to help. Would stay here again. Place makes you feel welcomed.
The hotel is very nice, it was a perfect location for the Beacon to Beach 10k race that we participated in. Free parking and the staff was very nice, they allowed us to stay a few extra hours. We would love to come back and keep exploring the area.
Missy and the staff are absolutely wonderful. We really liked our room, the kitchen and the private balcony on the 2nd floor with such a nice view. Although it is an older hotel it is very clean. Easy access and close to the beach. Parking onsite.
Hotel is located on the beach and very close to the Pier entrance. Free top brand coffee is offered in the main lobby. The place is quiet and the staff is very friendly. A special thanks to John.
