Bar Harbor

The pricing in the area is not affordable for the average joe for any length of time unfortunately. These older properties tend to not have adequate electrical outlets for today's high demand from modern electronics. That is a major drawback to some of these places.

Old Orchard Beach

Appreciate that there are plenty of bathrooms in town and near the beaches. Found beaches to be pretty clean but was disappointed how some people just let their garbage go around the beach! Actually picked some up and put it with ours!

Portland

We just explored the city by walking, trolley tour and Casco Bay ferry. If you want to have a sunset cruise, be aware that the person should be physically fit, because for handicapped persons it is hard to board the boat.

Ogunquit

Ogunquit Beach is a beautiful Beach between York and Wells Beach where the sand is golden/ fine white sand. It offers gentle waves of 62-67 degree water and a lazy river/ inlet. The marginal way always offers scenic and picturesque vantage points.

Bangor

Bangor was interesting and had some nice historic places. Shopping and coffee in the old section was nice. The traffic was slow and a bit tedious in the morning. We drove through on our way out of town and didn't have time for shopping and getting more familiar with Bangor.

I was visiting a friend in Kennebunkport.
Wells

I was visiting a friend in Kennebunkport. The travel was a little distance so going back and forth took some time. Liked the area because there were things to do. I'm a big breakfast person. Not enough breakfast places around to accommodate all the people visiting the area. Even being alone, it was a wait each morning. Would like to see all the breakfast places open all day (not till just 2:00 or 3:00 p.m.). Traveling alone, I'd prefer these type of places rather than high end dining in the evening.

Kennebunkport

I had come to Maine as a child due to extended family living there and had been to quiet Kennebunkport. However, it's no longer quiet, it is filled with tourists, but it really is a nice, historic location that has the right feel of "Downeast Maine."

Camden

One of the most beautiful places I've ever visited in the US. So many good places to eat, have coffee and eat locally made ice cream, Also, take a sailboat cruise on one of the many antique schooners. I loved the OLAD. The harbor is so beautiful, and oh so many shops to take your money! It's worth it though. happy hour at the Harbor Side Hotel bar lobby is the best. We stayed for dinner and was so pleased.

Boothbay Harbor

Booth Bay Harbor is a beautiful place but be prepared for the high cost of dining and shops. If you are on a budget, the Duton’s Dog house at 40 Sea st. has great food. It is outdoors, casual with picnic tables. The food is very good from hot dogs to fresh seafood at a reasonable price. Hannaford’s grocery store at 180 Townsand Ave, Boothbay is on the main rd just before town. They have great prepared sandwiches, salads with dressings, nice fruit and anything you might need! Highly recommend taking the harbor cruise which is identified by mail delivery to Squirrel Island. It is lovely! Narrated and less expensive than others.

We took the lighthouse trolly tour which was very nice.
South Portland

We took the lighthouse trolly tour which was very nice. Plenty of restaurants to choose from in Portland (if you like chowder, a trip to Gilbert's Chowder House is a must). If you must park a car though; avoid the lots that are located by the wharfs which are really expensive. There are more affordable lots available if you don't mind walking a little; we were lucky enough to even find free (2 hour max until 5pm, then no limit) street parking less than a mile from downtown.
