"Rockland's a really nice bit of coastal Maine. The walk to the lighthouse and the Farnsworth museum are great, as is the main street with all the restaurants and shops. It is pretty small so wouldn't recommend staying more than 2 nights at most."

One of 123 reviews:
"The hotel is on the Bath Rd out of Brunswick but very easy to get into Brunswick. Shops and eating places nearby. Brunswick is nice to explore even though very long main street. It does have a cinema though in case of bad weather. Not very much going on In Bath itself. Booth bay Harbour is a must to visit, quaint shops, plenty eating places, whale watching and other harbour trips available. Parking maybe an issue in busy season. We used the top carpark ( with lighthouse symbol) $10 honesty box when we visited. Nice small beach at Lands End with lovely scenic views on drive there, but it only has a small carpark there."

"Boothbay Harbor was close to our accommodations, and we loved driving over to wander the shops, enjoy the view from balcony restaurants, and just enjoyed the little harbor with its fishing boat views, etc. Our first most delicious Lobster Roll at Oysters, based on storekeeper's recommendation! Waitress said there would be more crowds later this month when schools are out. Happily, didn't apply to us :D"

We had booked this property but when we arrived in the evening we were told Booking.com had double booked the room despite having an email confirming this. The lady at reception was most helpful and had booked us into another motel, the Belfast Harbour Inn, nearby which was of a much higher standard but honoured the price we paid and gave a free breakfast. We were most impressed with the help offered here and the other motel. The room was most comfortable and with very good facilities.

The room was ginormous! We had a twin and it had a jacuzzi in the lounge area with the TV and fire. Bathroom was bigger than my kitchen! Beds were comfy, it was peaceful and the grounds were well kept. Breakfast was very good and staffing wise Dave was very helpful including helping my friend get extra blankets in the middle of the night.

One of the most beautiful places I've ever visited in the US. So many good places to eat, have coffee and eat locally made ice cream, Also, take a sailboat cruise on one of the many antique schooners. I loved the OLAD. The harbor is so beautiful, and oh so many shops to take your money! It's worth it though. happy hour at the Harbor Side Hotel bar lobby is the best. We stayed for dinner and was so pleased.

Belfast is a lovely, typical New England town. The ocean tourist industry is very prominent and well done. Streets are clean; Traffic not for the faint of heart. We spent the evening on a sunset cruise on the Appledore out of Camden harbor. It was fabulous! Our stay was too short but totally enjoyable.

See my detailed review for most things. We drove a short distance to Robinson's Wharf - one of the places recommended. I had the fish and chips which was delicious, and my spouse had the lazy lobster. Good choices. There's really plenty to do at the property, we were just thwarted because of the rain.

It's close to Boothbay Harbor, where there are lots of great places to eat, neat shops, art galleries, whale watches, and other fun things. We spent a day at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, which was well worth the time spent, and also made a day trip up to Acadia. Next visit, we'll check out the Aquarium (we just didn't have time, this trip). If you go, be sure to stop at Blanchard's Creamery and Cafe. Best ice cream for miles!!!
