Sentosa Lodge features free bikes, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Padang. We had a nice double room with a large semi outdoor private bathroom. Everyone who works there was super kind and helpful They did my laundry for free! They got us the ferry tickets for Mentawai

Tailana Island Pulau Banyak has a garden, private beach area, a shared lounge and terrace in Alaban. The property features a bar, as well as a restaurant serving Asian cuisine. Absolute paradise. To stay on a 'private' island with only the 8 bungalows at Tailana is such a dream and amazing value for money. We ended up staying 7 nights. We got the 2hr speed boat both ways, which we managed to share with other guests (arranged on whatsapp). Average price was 1,600,000 for the two of us. We know other guests who did it with the public ferry and wooden boats. The room and bed were simple but comfy, good mosquito net. Because we extended our stay, we actually stayed in the newer A-Frame room as well as the older white-washed room, and while both were good, we actually preferred the older room as it was easier to stand in (the a-frame is a bit low on the sides of the bed obviously). The food was excellent, 3 delicious meals per day. They catered to vegetarian diet without a problem. Not many mosquitos which was surprising. We snorkelled everyday (you can rent equipment from their small dive shop on the island) and thought it was really beautiful. We saw a lot of coloured fish, some stingray, and one turtle. Definitely worth the big trip to get here, but we'd recommend staying at least 4 nights to make it worthwhile. The bathrooms are simple (European style, but non-flushing... which isn't a problem) The outdoor showers are great and offer enough privacy. Tip: I brought some beers with me and they let me keep them in the fridge :)

Hotel Deli River is located in Medan City, surrounded by tropical greenery and natural landscapes. Overlooking the Sumatran Jungle, it offers free Wi-Fi access. Wonderful resort with all amenities and a beautifully landscaped garden. It felt like being in Bali. The building quality of the houses and the bathroom was as perfect as in Europe. The staff were wonderful. So was the food. We spent a lot of time enjoying the pool area. The two goose in the pond interacting in complete harmony was great fun to watch. Reaching central Medan by bluebird was a matter of half an hour and costed almost nothing.

Grand City Hall Hotel & Serviced Residences is situated in the heart of Medan. It is next door to the Bank Indonesia Complex. Facilities and room very nice, breakfast really good. Perfect location.

I'm used to travel by my own and finding a human place where I feel like home is a gift. All the family here was respectful, gentle and kind with me. The quality for the price is superbe and you will be served if you look for adventure and nature. An immersive experience avoiding touristic places thanks to this accommodation that I deeply recommend. People that you meet is a big important of your travel and Grandma Guesthouse was. The plus : Yusuf, the owner, brought me to visit a school that he created for the village named "Kolibri", and it was one of my best experience meeting these kids in there environment and I'm not sure that I would have done that if I was in a popular hostel. Thank you for this trip !

Situated in Hilibotodane, a few steps from Sorake Beach, Dolin Cottage features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a private beach area and a shared lounge. Setting is just perfect! You can see the break from your porch and you get out of the water right in front of the garden! There‘s an ample garden, so you have lot‘s of space and peace, but you‘re in two minutes walking up on the point. Room is simple, but spacious with a large porch. And last but not least: Dolin and his family are just perfect hosts! Super friendly and helpful! And Dolin knows a lot about the place and the history. And great food too! It really was a pleasure to stay here!!!
