The landlady is an interior designer and the house and garden are full of modern design - both in general style as in objects which you might partially buy. Still it is neither a museum nor a shop and there is no pressure to order. Service is comprehensive and very individual and - compliments - it has been a pleasure to enjoy a weekend escape there, offering much more than we had been able to use. It is a wonderful starting point for any activitites south of Brussels in particular visits to the historic places of Napoleons battle in the area of Waterloo, all offering very good insight into the historic context and developments in and for Europe - very inspiring and informative, we had no idea how much that would impress us. For Brussels itself it might be a bit remote bus still 'in reach' (with very good train link in walking distance to Brussels Midi - Central - North), and a valuable alternative to many offers in the city itself.

We spent two nights at Jardin Secret and can honestly say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and care – and even greeted with a bouquet of roses, a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for our entire stay. The garden is truly a gem. Every corner is lovingly maintained, from the table nestled in greenery for al fresco dining, to the outdoor hot tub, sauna, and the cozy wood stove that adds a warm, intimate ambiance. In the evening, the soft lighting among the bamboo plants creates a magical, dreamlike atmosphere. It felt as if we had stepped into another world – a peaceful haven where you can truly unwind. We stayed in the charming “barrel” – a romantic and beautifully designed space, full of character and equipped with every comfort. Waiting for us was a bottle of champagne, chocolates, sweets, and an incredibly generous selection of teas. The kitchen may be small, but it’s smartly laid out and has everything you could need. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, and waking up to birdsong was the perfect soundtrack to start the day. One modern touch we loved: an iPad to control the lighting and music, letting us tailor the mood to our liking at any moment. Inside, the magic continues – a second hot tub, a pristine and modern bathroom, all spotlessly clean and thoughtfully arranged. And in the morning, more delight: breakfast delivered straight to us, fresh from the bakery, complete with a delicious homemade chocolate cake. The hosts are simply lovely – kind, attentive, discreet, and genuinely devoted to making your stay special. You can feel the love and care they put into creating this little oasis. Jardin Secret is far more than just a place to stay – it’s a full sensory escape, perfect for anyone seeking beauty, tranquility, and intimacy. Highly, wholeheartedly recommended. We’ll definitely be back.
