The location is wonderful, probably unique, high on the valley side, in quiet forest. Many of the guests will be coming and going daily walking the Malerweg, but access to this amazing location is also possible by forest track and car. There’s the possibility of a wonderful breakfast overlooking the beautiful Saxon Switzerland landscape, before a day walking the trails. Very nice evening meals available upto 18.30, but there’s also very good inns and restaurants in the surrounding villages if you are out later. There is also a free pass that allows you to use local trains, buses and ferry’s to explore the area, which is a great idea and cuts down on people driving. We had a great time walking sections of the Malerweg using the passes to get to starting points and walking back to a lovely meal as the sunset and a comfortable bed with nothing but the sound of the wind in the trees to lull you to sleep!

We were very pleased with our stay here. Our apartment was large, with comfortable furniture and a well equipped kitchen. And what a great location to explore Saxon Switzerland NP as well as going out for dinner, going to the supermarket and a number of bakeries. We had a balcony for two and spent our evenings on the balcony looking out over the beautiful park. The hosts provide detailed information for locating the property, parking and for getting into your apartment and were very quick to respond to messages. We loved the keypad system as it meant you didn't have to worry about carrying a key with you. We plan to return to SSNP but instead of staying in a new town we will be staying at these apartments again, thats how much we enjoyed the apartments and Bad Schandau.

Apartment in a quiet location a bit outside of Hohnstein, 10 minutes drive to Bastei and a hiking route nearby. Good value for a short stay. It's possible to have breakfast at the location. There's a place outside the building to park the car.

Amazing to stay in a proper castle!! It was/is partly a youth hostel and that’s evident in the decor of the rooms. However, it was very comfortable and quiet. Great views across the valley. The lady at reception was super friendly. Easy bus access to Bad Schandau and Bastei. Good breakfast buffet with fresh Brötchen!

We loved the location, the amazing view and how quiet it was. We stayed for 2 nights and on the first night there was an event for 100+ people for dinner, we couldn’t hear them from our room and it was peaceful. Waking up to such beautiful and quiet surroundings was excellent. The on-site restaurant was lovely as well. We also like how there’s a functioning kitchen and fridge in our room so we could cook too.
