Accommodation in Hohnstein

The location is wonderful, probably unique, high on the valley side, in quiet forest. Many of the guests will be coming and going daily walking the Malerweg, but access to this amazing location is also possible by forest track and car. There’s the possibility of a wonderful breakfast overlooking the beautiful Saxon Switzerland landscape, before a day walking the trails. Very nice evening meals available upto 18.30, but there’s also very good inns and restaurants in the surrounding villages if you are out later. There is also a free pass that allows you to use local trains, buses and ferry’s to explore the area, which is a great idea and cuts down on people driving. We had a great time walking sections of the Malerweg using the passes to get to starting points and walking back to a lovely meal as the sunset and a comfortable bed with nothing but the sound of the wind in the trees to lull you to sleep!

It is a great place to stay and explore Saxon Switzerland region and Dresden. You will stay by the gate of the medieval castle and with fresh baked pastries in the morning.

Spotless and very comfortable

the staff were AMAZING. so accommodating. We initially booked a non-AC room because we didn’t know the hotel had AC available. We were sweltering. So we asked for any fan or anything and they actually upgraded us at minimal cost and we moved to an AC room. The staff stayed after their shift to assist us with this. Really above and beyond. They were friendly too

The staff were super nice and I had a pleasant stay. The room and food were great, with amazing views and history! Felt quite spooky being the only one staying in the castle, thankfully saw no ghosts!

Amazing view from Castle. Historical building. Friendly staff. Clean. Authentic. Right at the end of trekking routes. Breakfast and parking possibility is a good plus.

Everything brand new and perfect!

It was really cozy place to stay in the mountains area, quiet area. All needed equipment for cooking was there! Towels and bedsheets were clean. There was a place for a car near the house.

It is very nice place in small town surrounded by nature. The flat was large and everything was clean. The owner is very friendly. The parking place is free right next to the building. Bastei bridge is 5min by car.

The village is very cozy and charming, with beautiful walking trails nearby. The house is spacious, nicely designed and well equipped – we found everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
