The breakfast was large and varied for differing tastes giving fabulous value for money. The hotel was spotlessly clean and well looked after with lovely decoration and extremely comfortable. The standout undoubtedly were the proprietor and her staff who worked extremely hard and long hours to make sure that every customer was well catered for and happy. The evening restaurant had an extensive menu and the food excellent and good value even though this would be difficult to execute for such a small team. It would be a real shame should anything need to change at this small, lovely, well run hotel.

Great stay and location, the view and the atmosphere is perfect if you want some peace and relaxation. Excellent starting point for hikes. The unit we had was airy, clean and spacious. The staff was super friendly. Prior to our stay, we read some reviews with complaints about the limited choices of the included breakfast, however we found it quite good - fresh fruit, granola, choices between fruit and plain yogurt, salami, prosciutto, different cheeses, coffee machine, tea choices, bacon & eggs, ... We especially liked the tortilla española (omlette with potatoes) - if you plan.to hike it gives you a good kick until the next meal 😉.

Friendly welcome as my Friend and I were confused after a long day of hiking on the GR131. We speak no Spanish but everyone was super helpful and check in was smooth. Big apartment- we had ample room to sleep and both could use a different bathroom! Great interior and we loved the patio. Full kitchen along with a washing machine was great for us after a hard day of hiking! Clean and spacious in a great small town.

I had an excellent, unfortunately short, stay at Somberito. It's a family business and everyone was very kind and helpful. The rooms are simple, but absolutely spotless, and smartly thought out, so you have everything the traveler's heart could want (reading lamps, bedside table with plugs to charge your phone, roomy closet, fridge, perfect water pressure and temperature, (and if I remember correctly a window in the bathroom), comfortable bed, dark and light curtains,...). The breakfast is a fantastic option. The tortilla was delicious, but there was also fruit, cereal, different breads, hams and cheese, and more. Definitely worth the money. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed the two days I was staying (Wednesdays and Thursdays), so I didn't have the pleasure to taste their food. I had another booking I couldn't cancel or I'd definitely have stayed a day or two more. If I return to Tenerife, I'll definitely come back to Somberito again. Gracias por todo!

One of the few places on the island that didn't want to make a big deal about someone arriving late in the day. Knowing I could get in at any point made the flight, car hire and driving so much less stressful. After that, it was great to find it was also above the cloud line and a great place to start hiking from. The instructions were clear and the host attentive. I've stayed in traditional Canary style properties before but this one was well set-up and I had a good night's sleep. I also like the period furnishings; good quality and part of the culture instead of mindless consumerism. Upgrades have been made where convenient such as my room having 4 sockets in it and 1 right next to the bed.
