It was a beautiful Hotel and they made sure we were absolutely catered for in respect of the meals. The staff were very friendly and the hotel is situated perfectly.

The Breakfast in the Bistro, Western and Japanese were both delicious. The staff were meticulous in making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The location of the hotel couldn't be better. Right in the heart of the historic area.

Our days here were something special. We were in our honeymoon trip and the time we spent in Kyoto ,and specially in Seiryu Hotel, was amazing. The attention to detail, the facilities, the rooftop bar with the pagoda view, the tea ceremony, the incredible kind staff, the room, the breakfast… all of these is just a part of the excellence that makes this hotel the best in Kyoto! PS: by the way, the aroma in the common area and green tea ceremony area is extraordinary! Please I would like to know what kind of aroma you use there, we falled in love with it! Staying at Sowaka was truly unforgettable, one of the best experiences of my life. From the moment you check in, you’re guided through this beautiful traditional property, and it immediately sets the tone for something unique. We stayed in the Tea Room, and it felt absolutely magical. The room opens onto a Japanese garden, creating a peaceful, almost spiritual atmosphere. It’s the kind of calming beauty you can’t find anywhere else. The staff is exceptional. A special shoutout to the Experience Manager and to Issa at the welcome desk, they went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. They even arranged a private Zazen meditation for us, which was an incredible moment. The food is also fantastic. I highly recommend having dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. Everything felt perfect from beginning to end. Without a doubt, one of the best hotels we’ve ever experienced — truly unique and unforgettable.

perfect location to Gijon, temples, garden around, very nice cuisine resto nearby, waking distance to Kiyomizu, parking nearby and free (ask reception). Staffs are very kind and helpful, lovely mordern hotel managed by the temple. Morning free spiritual ceremony offered, lovely hotel, lovely people!!!!

The accommodations were very comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. We had dinner at the hotel. The food was presented and prepared well. Some things were unusual for us to try and we had mixed feelings about whether we enjoyed them, but it was our first authentic Japanese dinner. We would highly recommend the hotel.

Absolutely loved the traditional Home, the zen garden, the bathroom, and super comfortable beds. And of course the location was amazing!

The staff was extremely friendly, the hotel's location is amazing. We were a 10 min walk away from historical sites, temples, and the city center. The hotel itself is an amazing traditional place. 10/10 would recommend, and already planning to stay here the next time!
