The owner running the place was very kind! He explained and showed everything to us that was usable in the hostel. There are multiple showers and toilets, as well as a kitchen and laundry available. For the price, it’s really great and I recommend it if you’re just looking for a place to stay the night!

I stayed for 12 nights at this beautiful temple. The hosts truly went out of their way to make me feel at home, and for this I am very thankful. The room and facilities are very clean and comfortable with everything you need for a short or an extended stay. The temple hosts also taught me so many things about Sado Island, the local Hatano community and many other things. I can think of no better place to spend my time on this interesting, bio-diverse island. My heartfelt thanks to the team for all their time, patience and lessons!

Hotel just 7 minutes drive from the gold mine, 5 minutes walk to the coastline Explore. 400 years old Aikawa town, drive around stunning & heavenly Sado Island, a landmass of 777 square kilometers yet only 50,000 residents Rooms. I was in one of the two rooms upstairs from the reception with a Hinoki bathroom, tatami mat floors, sliding shoji screens, washi paper lanterns, full of character and atmosphere @ the hotel. The hotel is in a restored machiya that used to be a ceramics shop, but is now a community immersive hotel with 7 rooms scattered throughout 4 buildings in town. What sets it apart is the heartfelt service, they made dinner reservations for me at a nearby izakaya (Hinoki) and drove me there to help order and settle me in, as the restaurant was busy (quite a few people were in town due to the annual Sado Long Ride 210 km cycling event), breakfast was delivered to my room Food & drinks. Hinoki for dinner and Bunzo for drinks Prices. $348 Rating. 5/5
