This is my second stay at CHIYOMARU Container House. The first time, the host arrange for a neighbor to take us fishing and we caught a lot of fish. They grilled them for us and we had a great meal. This time, we went whale watching and saw two humpback whales up close. It was a once in a lifetime experience.

The house has been beautifully restored and includes a lot of retro touches in the furnishings and decorative items. This made it feel very warm, welcoming, and special. It was also wonderful to flick through the book detailing the renovation processes. Lena was such a great host and kindly provided dinner options for us also. We felt so relaxed as we slept, with the soundtrack of rain falling on the roof and frogs outside. A special shout out about the toilet door, which reminded us of a ninja trick house. I want one at our house.
