We spent a week at Xul-Ha and it was a cute, little, quiet town with very lovely residents. This resort was immaculately kept and filled with lush plants, it felt like you were in the middle of the jungle. The rooms were charming, perfectly clean and the pool was amazing! The breakfasts were also very tasty, but the shared kitchen was also great and we cooked quite a few meals there as well. You could walk to the small grocery stores and restaurants around the area. Thank you again to our hosts Fermin and Miriam for making us feel so at home!

Clean, comfortable bed, good AC, small number of rental units in a lockable walled compound with covered courtyard and shared outdoor kitchen. Quiet neighborhood on secondary street. Sergio the site manager lives across the street and really took care of us. He fixed a toilet problem quickly and provided a hot/cold filtered water dispenser for a nominal 40 pesos fee. He also provided free good quality ground coffee and gave us access to a second fridge when the one in the outdoor kitchen wasn't working. We brought our own fry pan which was lucky since cookware and utensils were few. Sergio replaced the gas stove top's empty propane tank quickly. He kept the courtyard area very tidy. Xul-Ha is a small mainly undeveloped village. Best to know some Spanish. There are several 'beach clubs' with 30-50 pesos day fees for access to swimming in Lake Bacalar.

The room was clean and comfortable, albeit small, but the large terrace and the owner's friendliness, along with the option to use his own terrace for family activities and meals, more than compensated for the size of the room. We were very satisfied, especially with the beautiful lake view, and the owner provided valuable advice for excursions, helping us choose good and budget-friendly options in the surrounding area.
