Located in Sarapiquí in the Heredia region, Casa Sol features a patio. The hostel is situated in a perfect location in the village center. Situated a 80 meters from the main road, so very quiet. Supermarket, bakery, Best Coffee and the company for booking rafting and other tours are at walking distance. In the morning you can hike opposite of the road to the nature reserve for birdwatching; and there are so many species of birds! In the afternoon you can walk to the river and have a swim or dip in to it to cool off. I booked a private room with private bathroom and the rooms are very big, so you can stay with 4 persons. The hostel has a lovely view, expect Ara's and many multicolored birds in the backyard snacking from the banana's. The owner Maria is so warm and friendly, and there are 2 lovely dogs who want to be friends with you as soon as you arrive. The facilities in the kitchen are very good. Everything is super clean and tidy, value for money is superb!

Located 20 km from Poas National Park, Volcano Panoramic Views offers accommodation with a patio, as well as barbecue facilities. Hosts reached out via What'sApp. I was greeted on arrival with keys and a tour of the space. The unit was the size of a condo and views of the farm and volcano were beautiful. Parking was on site and safe; the property is gated. The property is well located to enjoy area activities, and it makes an excellent stopover on the way to La Fortuna. The owner is beyond generous with his time and knowledge of the area. Breakfast was homemade and brought to my door.

Beautiful location and cozy cabin, delicious breakfast, and wonderful hosts. A perfect place for trips to Poás volcano and a breath of fresh air. Highly recommend!

Featuring a garden, Eco Guest House - Sarapiquí 1 is situated in Sarapiquí, within 35 km of La Paz Waterfall Gardens and 38 km of Catarata Tesoro Escondido. This "Guest House" is huge. A family of 4+ could easily move in here and live comfortably. The back decks are beautiful to just sit and watch the jungle. It is a little way down the road from the city, which means it is quiet and very laid back. I had both a breakfast and a dinner while at the guest house. Both were great portions with a lot of variety, tasty, and well worth the money. Unfortunately, my schedule and Wendy's schedule didn't align for her bird tour. There was lots of flora and fauna to explore. My personal sightings included Toucans and a Morpha butterfly. I'm willing to bet that there was a lot I missed that Wendy could have found and shared!

Incredible property. Wonderful rooms and facilities. Should have stayed longer! Spa, pool and views were amazing. Definitely recommend coffee tour and tasting. Staff super friendly and helpful. Boasting a garden and views of mountain, Casa del Cafe-Familiar is a guest house set in a historic building in Heredia, 40 km from Poas National Park. Modern apartment was comfortable and suitable for simple meal preparation. A small grocery store is approximately a block away and has basic items for snacks, or a light meal. The neighborhood is safe for walking. Uber was convenient to access restaurants or Britt coffee. One morning our hostess prepared an excellent breakfast for an additional charge. We loved the grounds and were very happy that we chose this accommodation rather than a standard hotel.
