Casa Pandora Hostel Women Only is situated in San José, within 7.5 km of Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica and 10 km of Parque Diversiones. I highly recommend this hostel! I stayed here three different times for a night, and every time it felt so welcoming – just like home. Everything is very clean, the beds are comfortable, the showers are hot, and there’s even a TV with Disney+/Netflix/Prime… just perfect! The place is designed with so many thoughtful details: a fully equipped kitchen, hair dryers, shower products, extra blankets if needed… you really feel that everything has been thought of for the guests’ comfort. The staff has been incredibly kind and helpful – they even let me leave some of my belongings a couple of times, always with such friendliness and quick responses. The automated check-in system makes everything super easy as well. For me, it’s the perfect place to stay for a night or two before exploring the rest of Costa Rica. A huge thank you to the whole team 🌸

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a private pool, Apartments Nauyaca is set in Platanillo. The 4-star aparthotel is 18 km from Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary. The property nestled in this beautiful forest near the falls. Frtiz and his wife are very friendly and gave us local recommendation. They had welcome drinks a s breakfast was delicious. The overall setting of the rooms were great. AC worked fine which is super important in humid climate. The rooms had distinct fragrance of euclyptus. I thought that was a good touch. Hot water also worked fine. Highly recommend.

Featuring a spa bath, Villas Páramo Cloud Forest Hotel is located in División. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. Very clean. Great hiking trails for those of us that wanted to go. Jacuzzi bath for those that didn't. Comfortable bed and couch. We had all we needed for cookware to cook for a group of 10. We didn't realize we couldn't use a credit card up there but Gravin came to the rescue and so we were able to get the food we needed at the little store there. Gravin was so accommodating and a great host! We can't wait to come back.

Located in Copey, Curuba Lodge offers accommodation with a terrace or a balcony, free WiFi and flat-screen TV, as well as a garden and a restaurant. The manager was amazing. I booked last minute due to not feeling well on a long drive. He saw me struggling at my car and brought me water, changed my room to one that was closer so I didn’t have to walk, and offered dinner. So incredibly kind and I was feeling better in just a few hours. It was like happening upon a tiny peice of paradise. The gardens were so beautiful with flowers, hummingbirds, and free flowing water. I look forward to goin back and enjoying coffee in the cute cafe.

Las Bromelias Lodge has garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Paso Macho, 28 km from Cerro de la Muerte. Beautiful location, plenty of space to sleep, relax, have meals plus great views. Very helpful staff that visited the house while we were away and prepared fireplace for us after we used wood the day before. Perfect location to explore Savegre forest and this area. In the cottage we found a contact to very good, profesional birdwatching guide.

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a private pool, garden view and a patio, Cozy apartment with terrace, SJ Cosmopolitan Tower #402 is set in San José. I love the place. It was a last moment change for us and actually im so happy it happened this way. I love everything about this place. I could say it was the best place to celebrate my birthday. We could use swimming pool, sauna, enjoy the city view from the terrace. And to have a dinner we just crossed a street and there were a few very good restaurants. Definitely we will come back
