Great stay at Pension Bavaria in Mittenwald. The owner of the Pension was truly friendly and always keen to help with information or ideas for hikes. The breakfast was great: fresh fruit and eggs, different kinds of bread included. The room was tidy, comfortable bed and had a balcony with mountain-view. I’d recommend this place to everyone who is looking for a calm and relaxing holiday. Thank you so much!

The space is large and clean. The kitchen is well-equipped and very convenient to use! It's not far from all the tourist attractions. If you plan to stay in the area for a few nights, it's a very cost-effective accommodation choice.

This was my second stay here - though this time my room was in the annex across the road from the main accommodation. The room was very nice, with a small balcony. The bathroom was well appointed, with an excellent shower. I particularly enjoyed having the lovely buffet breakfast outside on the patio.

They place is just perfect for a vacation. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Garmisch. You will find absolutely everything you might need: fully equipped kitchen, wellness area, washroom, comfortable beds, grilling area and so much more. The views from the windows are breathtaking.
Our family enjoyed the stay and is looking forward to coming again next year. We found our favorite place to stay in Garmisch 💙

Nice, modern and clean hotel. It's close to highway (I see only purpose for overnight stays on the way to vacation/business trip). There is closw McDonald or Lidl grocery store.

Extraordinary. Simply the most beautiful place where we have stayed in our lifetime. The landscape and the house is breathtaking. Peter and his wife are very kind and helpful. The room is clean and well furnished. The breakfast is excellent. We would choose this accomodation anytime in the future.

We just returned after a week’s holiday at this wonderful property. The accommodation was excellent, spotlessly clean and with a well equipped kitchen. The location is absolutely stunning with views over Berchtesgaden and the Watzmann mountains. The accommodation also has a swimming pool set in beautiful gardens for occupants to use. I used to live in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area and have friends who live just a couple blocks from this hotel. As someone who has spent years in this area, I always send friends to stay here when visiting the area. Hotel Gasthof Alter Wirt is one of the most affordable accommodations in this otherwise expensive part of Germany. The breakfast is nice and the rooms are comfortable. There is ample street parking and good wifi. Farchant is a lovely village and I definitely encourage people to stay here.
