Warm and welcoming hotel, spacious room with lovely views. Great breakfast especially the scrambled eggs! They event provided gluten free bread for me. Walking distance to the lake and well located for lots of activities!

We, a family of five, came to this place after visiting Budapest, Vienna and Salzburg over Christmas and new years holidays. We had a perfect stay at the hotel and in the nature in the Königssee area to finish our holidays. The building and the property are very idyllic. We had a spacious family suite with beautiful views to the mountains. The breakfast was very good, as well as the dinner. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We also liked the pool and sauna area, especially after a cold day out. The indoor kids play area was also great and we also played some ping pong there in the evening and loved how fairytale-like the area around the hotel was covered in snow. The property has a great location, too. The area of Königssee and Berchtesgaden is beautiful and offers many activities which we could easily reach with the car because of the great location. First we thought we would stay one night only but we stayed the whole weekend in the end and would love to come back again.

It is very clean, very good breakfast and very responsive staff.

The spaciousness of the apartment made us feel like we were in a home away from home. Plenty of room to spread out and relax and having a fully equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare all our meals and save money. The view of the mountain range from our balcony was stunning. The little bakery underneath our apartment was a morning ritual and had delicious pastries and bread. It was so close to everywhere that we wanted to go and some amazing hiking trails practically at the doorstep

We had a connecting balcony which was great. Breakfast selection was amazing. Close proximity to main street, as well as Königssee.

The hotel was in an ideal location -- absolutely stunning old building! Easy to get to all the places we wanted to see in the area.

I am generally not a fan of chain hotels, but the Explorer Hotel had a lovely, can-do vibe. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and had all I needed.

We spent there 3 nights. It was very nice stay. Value price/quality is great. Perfect location, only 10 minutes on foot from main station. Very good breakfast.
