I had a wonderful stay at Fano Kroogard. This is lovely waterside boutique hotel on the island of Fano. It is perfectly situated on the North side of the island. It is 5 minutes by walk from the ferry and 20 minutes by bike to the beach, with bikes available to rent on site. The whole property has a calm and cozy ambience. There is a reading nook on the main floor, and a terrace overlooking the waterfront. The decor is so well done with so much attention to detail. The rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. If you manage to get a suite overlooking the water, you’ll be able to take in the wildlife of the Wadden sea, and see seals out your window. There is a restaurant on the main floor that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. As a hotel guest, the breakfast in the morning is a choice between several local inspired dishes. I had several different meals at the restaurant and every time the food was delicious. For lunch they offer traditional open sandwiches and for dinner several vergetable and seafood entrees. The restaurant is clearly a favourite spot on the island among locals, as it was always full. Above all, the staff is so lovely and they made my stay extra special. They upgraded me to a lovely room with a seaside view and provided excelled recommendations of things to do on the island. I will definitely be coming back to this place.

We had great communication with Ronny and were given a room upgrade, which gave us a private bathroom. We liked the decoration, hospitality and the possibility to park our bycicles inside the property. Breakfast was also nice with many local products. The town offers plenty of food and drink options and everything is within walking distance.

We spent a night at Gunnar and Claudia’s Bed & Breakfast. Our room was very pleasant, the furniture and objects were chosen with great taste, the shower was very comfortable, and the bed allowed us to enjoy a truly restful night. The breakfast room is the jewel of the place: the furniture and tableware are beautiful, the cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, and jams are delicious, the warm bread releases a gentle steam when broken, and Gunnar is busy in the kitchen preparing pancakes. The hosts are charming—we hope to return someday, as they have created a haven of peace and good taste. The region also has some very interesting towns, such as Aabenraa with its fascinating harbor. A heartfelt thank you to Gunnar and Claudia for offering us this little cocoon.

The place offers a large garden. Here, you can rest under apple and pear trees and observe the sun going down. The hosts were present but not dominant. They were very very very kind and helpfull.
