The location is excellent, nothing better than sitting outside on the little terrace and enjoying the sea view and afternoon sun.

Offering a sun terrace and views of the garden, Björnhofvda Gård is set in Björnhuvud in the Åland Islands Region, 30 km from Mariehamn. Björnhofvda Gård is a really nice B&B with excellent facilities and very, very friendly staff. Breakfast was also nice with more than enough choice. Location cannot be beaten: very tranquil, rural environment. Would definitely not hesitate to return when the opportunity arises.

The place is just exceptional - a magnificent old-time house with its unique charm and spirit, managed by lovely owners who live in the same building. It is almost like travelling back in time when human lives were more harmonious -- just ideal for a holiday or intellectual inspiration. We had a top-level breakfast served individually in a beautiful dining room; we joined other customers reading books at distributed tables in the garden while enjoying a glass of wine or beer. We visited a small art gallery and even a short classical music concert performed by the staff. The location is very good -- just in the centre of the island, you can reach every corner easily. Some good restaurants are within a 5-10 min drive. The surroundings of the house include peaceful countryside views and a village church. An official swimming place is just 200 m away.
