The guest house has family rooms. Danilo is the guy who welcomed us. He was amazing. Extremely friendly and positive person. Helped us with taxi for our return and was very welcoming. Thank you, Danilo! The location is very good, right next to the old city and the Sassi but still in the modern part.

Bike hire and car hire are available at this hotel. The location was tricky to get to, but that is not the hotel's fault. They are accessible only by foot due to the way the ancient town was built. I received excellent recommendations from the hotel about parking for our rental car. There is a secure parking building about 15 minutes walk away that cost 20 euro per day, although this is not the only option. The reception staff were excellent and organised for our luggage to be taken to our room - much appreciated considering the cobbled paths around the hotel. The room was large, quiet and well appointed. The included continental breakfast was adequate and the spa facilities were a nice addition.

The location was perfect within the old town close to some of the best view points while being close to new Matera with shops and restaurants. Very convenient parking space 100 metres from the property outside the ZTL zone. Negligible stairs so was easy with luggage. The breakfast was good and the staff was very helpful
