Staying at the Guesthouse is a must if you go to Katsuyama and visit the dinosaur museum, especially if you have children, even older ones. The stay enhanced the experience. As other reviews have attested, I confirm the hospitality the owners provided us and went beyond our expectations. Many people will visit the museum as a day trip. However, I highly recommend staying overnight if you are a Japanese national with children or, like me, an international tourist.

Such cute town right by Eiheiji, shouldn't miss it. The place is a traditional house with large volume of rooms and facilities. So special from the history and craftsmanship and kind hosts and stories they tell us if we catch them. People in town are so so friendly. Shy in the beginning but only 5 minutes after, like old relatives. Highly recommended to take time and stay chez Sakai!

Great place to stay, with the flavor of a Buddhist inn and the facilities of a 5* hotel. Excellent shojin ryori cuisine. We were a family and they prepared a private dining room for us. Quiet, invited to enjoy everything in a serene way. The Buddhist celebration experience was fantastic, a monk that spoke excellent English explained everything and we also enjoyed a 'private tour' to the Eiheiji. Nice onsen also. 100% recommendable overall.

A beautiful traditional house, surrounded by a japanese garden in a quiet area, conveniently close to the railway station and bus stop. The landlady is charming and welcoming. It is well equipped witha complete kitchen. And private onsen ! Thank you !

越前海岸 ゲストハウス オーシャンズ Echizen Seaside Guesthouse OCEAN'S está em Fukui a 26 km de Phoenix Plaza e a 26 km de Fukui Prefecture Industrial Hall. It felt homey and we were able to sleep well since the futon was very comfortable. The host was also very friendly.

It was so amazing to stay here! The owners were so friendly and caring. They gave us many local tips, offered daily cleaning, new amenities, and fresh towels. The house is beautiful, very well equipped, and everything is brand new. The house is located in the old district of Obama and close to many amazing restaurants and of course the beach promenade. We loved our time here and regret not staying longer.

Beautiful location in a small coastal town right on the ocean..Our host and hotel stay are wonderful... they even gave us a ride to the station. The food was amazing as well.
