We stopped here during the Ohenro pilgrimage. The host was incredibly friendly. The beds were very comfortable. Fresh towels, high-quality shower gel, and shampoo were provided. There’s also a spacious co-working area and a very friendly ginger cat. Highly recommended!

Situated within 36 km of Daizen-ji Temple and 36 km of Nishihama Park, Guest House BONITO features rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Kochi. Very clean, great facilities and good provision of anything you might need for a comfortable stay. The owner is very friendly and helpful, and the beds and public spaces are well kept. The location is very good too, within walking distance of downtown areas and Hirome Market. The dorm beds were actual mattresses, so they were very comfortable, and the bunks came with many sockets and accessories (fan, light, clothes line, tissues). It’s a refurbished house, so it felt very cozy. It was comfortable and I enjoyed talking to other guests and the owner. It was a superb stay, one of the best guesthouses I’ve ever stayed at! Thank you!

The host for the property is very welcoming and informed upon the needs of travellers. The property is well maintained and clean. The main entrance and individual rooms are all coded, ensuring security and peace of mind. Amenities for your stay are more than catered for, although meals are not provided, there is a convenience store not far away and allowance for “late night snacks” is provided. I was also assisted with ongoing bookings by Mari, I cannot praise her efforts enough to accommodate a wiry traveller.

We were travelling around on motorbikes and found this fantastic guesthouse, which was very clean, with spacious rooms and all amenities required within striking distance to Mt Aso. The owner was very helpful, even helping us book ferry tickets to Shikoku, and the attached Izakya had great food and atmosphere.

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, CrossFit Otoyo Strength TINY HOUSE is situated in Otoyocho. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. We absolutely loved the Tiny House, everything about it, the ethos of how and why it was built, the design, the location, the hosts, it was a fantastic experience. We would highly recommend others who want to get away from it all, go and visit.

Featuring mountain views, Guesthouse boro-ya provides accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 50 km from Kōchi Station. The guesthouse is located a few hundred meters above the valley floor with a great view of the surrounding mountains and the river in the valley. It’s nice and quiet with only sounds of nature audible. The bathing facilities are in a separate small building, which makes the place quite unique. The hosts made a very flexible check in possible and prepared some refreshments.

Shimanto Riverside Hideaway, a property with a garden, is situated in Shimanto, 12 km from Shimanto Historical Museum, 12 km from Ichijo Shrine, as well as 13 km from Shimanto Yasunamiundo Koen Park. Kenji is a really attentionate host who would make your stay going smoothly! The house is so beautiful even in rainy days the vibes are here. We wish we could have stayed more to just enjoy the place Definitely a go to !

Situated in Shimanto-cho, EkimaehouseSamaru is a recently renovated accommodation, 13 km from Kaiyodo Hobby Museum Shimanto and 24 km from Monjudo Temple. Everything, Samaru is a great person. Pleasure to stay there. Will come back when we can.

Guesthouse Suisen is situated in Konan and offers free bikes and a garden. We rented a car at Kochi Ryoma Airport. The guesthouse was conveniently located near the airport and the freeway, making it easy to access our destination, Dogo Onsen. Initially, I was concerned about parking, but the guesthouse was on a wide road, which is important to know when renting a car in Japan. It was simple to maneuver in and out of the parking spaces located behind the house. The guesthouse was in the town of Noichi, where we enjoyed delicious meals at nearby restaurants. Additionally, its central location between my two other destinations, Kochi-shi and Aki-shi, meant that I didn't have to drive a lot in one day. Our host, Kyoko-san, was incredibly friendly and kind. Since it was the off-season, she gave the three of us two rooms, which allowed for a comfortable stay. I slept well during our time there. Unfortunately, I lost a hubcap from the rental car—it's a long story. On our departure morning, Kyoko-san went out of her way to prepare breakfast for my son and me. After saying our goodbyes, Kyoko-san called to inform us that my son had left his passport and charger behind. She kindly brought them all the way to the airport for us. Overall, I felt that the guesthouse was truly a home away from home.
