The availability of coffee and tea throughout the day, a minimalist yet satisfying breakfast, and practical facilities like the washer and dryer made everything feel effortless and well-considered. But what truly sets this place apart is the staff — the kindest and most thoughtful people I have ever met. They are the reason I want to return again and again. Located in Kyoto, less than 1 km from Gion Shijo Station, Gion Elite Terrace provides accommodation with a shared lounge, private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. We loved our stay at Gion Elite Terrace. It's perfectly located within walking distance from the train station, restaurants, bars and many of the sites we wanted to visit in Kyoto. It's located on a quite and quaint street. The rooms were spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. We loved the coffee bar in the lobby. The staff helped us with restaurant recommendations and reservations. I also love that they are an eco-friendly hotel. I will recommend this hotel to all of our friends planning to visit Kyoto.

Attractively set in Kyoto, THE GENERAL KYOTO Bukkouji Shinmachi features air-conditioned rooms, a shared lounge and free WiFi. This 4-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk and a concierge service. We stayed at both General Kyoto properties (they're a 5 minute walk from each other). Great location in a quiet but central street, with easy access to public transport. The hotel is extremely generous—spacious rooms with plenty of free toiletries, tea and snacks, music speaker etc. The lounge has a 'happy hour' with complimentary wine, matcha, coffee and Japanese sweets / rice cakes. There is also a coin-operated washing machine and dryer, which are very handy. The staff were very helpful with restaurant reservations, baggage forwarding services etc. We couldn't be happier with General Kyoto, and recommend it very highly.
