Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). I thought this would be just a nice sleepover place and nothing more but it is so beautiful and has a very unique traditional feel that it made our stay on the island so much better. You even get free breakfast/dinner if you don't have time to eat outside and depart early in the morning/ don't manage to fetch a table in a reataurant in the evening because there is limited amount of restaurants that are open in late evening or early morning. The whole house is very authentic and the family that runs the place also offers a little souvenir shop with super cheap prices of local souvenirs, some even locally handmade. Thr staff is super nice and the xommom areas welcoming to spend the evenings in game/living room. Also had beautiful garden and amazing views from the rooms right on the sea

Only a 5-minute drive from Miyajima Ferry Port with its free shuttle, beautiful ocean views can be enjoyed from Miyajima Seaside Hotel. Stunning location. Amazing hotel especially if you want to experience a more traditional Japanese stay. Staff were amazing and went above and beyond. Dinner and breakfast also amazing! Public bath very relaxing and great to see tips on how to use as not accustomed to that. Loved the small origami Santa and Rudolph along with some kitkats to celebrate Christmas when we stayed.

Jukeiso features Japanese-style rooms overlooking the majestic entrance gate (Torii) of Itsukushima-jinja Shrine, only a 5-minute walk from the Unesco World Heritage Site itself. Everything. Amazing service. They went above and beyond.

A 3-minute stroll from Itsukushima Shrine, Miyajima Grand Hotel Arimoto boasts an outdoor hot spring bath. It offers luxurious Japanese-style and Western rooms and a free shuttle from Miyajima Pier. The staff in this hotel were amazing. They were kind and courteous and genuinely very caring. The staff did everything they could to make sure we had an excellent stay. This included the taxi driver, receptionist, waitress and the shop assistant. The hotel is in an excellent location (make use of the free shuttle to make moving bags easier) with fantastic facilities. The Japanese breakfast and dinner were brilliant.

Everything was just perfect. The house is beautiful and all the details so charming. Super clean, high-tech toilet and everything you need. Beautiful traditional Japanese house in the traditional street of Miyajima, close to everything by walking like Temples, restaurants, shopping etc.. The host is lovely and so kind. Our stay was amazing.

Our host, Kousuke, is super nice, and made delicious breakfast. The property has a beautiful small garden in the middle. Bed is very comfortable.

Itsukushimahigashimonzen Kikugawa, a property with a shared lounge, is located in Miyajima, 2.3 km from Tsutsumigaura Beach, 500 metres from Five Storey Pagoda, as well as 700 metres from Itsukushima... We feel like we got the best room in the entire place—it even had a small bar area and a cozy enclosed outdoor space. There were complimentary sweets and two types of tea (green and hojicha), both of which were absolutely delicious. The main tatami room with futons was spacious, and the futons themselves were incredibly comfortable to sleep on. The bathroom featured a large hinoki bathtub, perfect for a relaxing soak. Breakfast was outstanding—probably the best we've had in Japan so far. For context, this is our third visit to Japan, and during this trip alone, we’ve stayed in five different hotels. What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional service. When we needed to buy some medicine and found the local pharmacy already closed, the staff went above and beyond to help us. There’s a remarkable small-town warmth among the owners and staff—an atmosphere of mutual support that felt truly special.
