Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). Fantastic location, a very short distance out of the main tourist areas, but close to everything. Beautiful setting both inside and out. The room had fantastic views and was very comfortable and spacious. Lots of amenities available.

A must to visit! Service was perfect. They pay attention to every detail and this makes you feel as you are in the best place you could ask for in Miyajima. The room was clean, the food was really great (not only the taste, but also how it was presented). Totally recommended!!!

Everything from being picked up from being picked up from the ferry to checking out was perfect. The staff were so attentive. The food was delicious, and having the option to book the private onsen every day. If you get a chance to book here do it, it's well worth it.

The staff in this hotel were amazing. They were kind and courteous and genuinely very caring. The staff did everything they could to make sure we had an excellent stay. This included the taxi driver, receptionist, waitress and the shop assistant. The hotel is in an excellent location (make use of the free shuttle to make moving bags easier) with fantastic facilities. The Japanese breakfast and dinner were brilliant.

One of the absolute highlights of our time in Japan. The house is a beautifully restored ryokan with excellent modern facilities, on a quiet street just a 5 minute walk from central Miyajimacho. Our host was incredibly generous and accommodating, greeting us with tea and treats and recommendations. She made us feel very welcome. As a base for our hike of Mt Misen, it was perfect. Miyajima is a busy place for daytrippers from Hiroshima, so staying overnight gave us the chance to see the island practically deserted in the morning and evening hours: a perfect way to see Itsukushima Shrine and Daisho-in Temple earlier in the day, before the crowds arrive, and even to wander out at low tide after dark to touch the base of the great, "floating" torii gate. Highly, highly recommend Shintatsuan as a place to stay!
