The hospitality of the host couple is unmatched. I was welcomed warmly and the room is spacious, clean and comfortable. The hosts provide snacks, free coffee and drinks and truly are the kindest people. They had infos on train schedules, made me an early breakfast upon departure and even drove me to the train station at 7.30am. Thank you so much, this was such a lovely encounter.

The lodge is very well equipped. Our room even had a refrigerator, and the shared space offered a microwave, oven, and electric kettle. While dining options in Hakuba Village can be limited in winter, having these free facilities made it easy to buy frozen food and heat it ourselves. Honestly, after skiing all day in strong winds and heavy snow, being able to eat something warm at the lodge was far better than any fancy meal. The ski drying room was also very convenient, and the staff kindly opened it early for us so we could catch the 7:00 AM early-morning skiing session. The lodge also sells discounted lift tickets (¥7,000 per day, limited quantity on a first-come, first-served basis), and they provide IC cards with on-site top-up, which saved us the trouble of buying tickets at the Goryu ski resort. In addition, they offer discounts at nearby rental shops — we used Winpy, which was conveniently located along the way. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

Amazing rooms one for sleeping and one living room very spacious! Great to discover the traditionnal house of Japan! The hosts were amazing and very helpfull giving us many recommendations on public transport and places to visit in the town !! The place is very clean and equips with everything you need for a night stay. They even have free drinks in the fridge including beers for guest. Room size is good as well. Quiet neighbourhood near the temple. I would stay there again if I return to Nagano.

The best stay we had in Japan, by far. The host is an amazing woman, and she makes you feel right at home. It’s an old building, which was no problem for us. The room itself is extremely spacious, and I never expected the futton beds to be some damn comfy. Had the best sleep ever here! WiFi works amazing, breakfast is delicious, and the location couldn’t be better. Amazing street, with good cafes and restaurants and close to the sights. Definitely will be coming back!
