Excellent location right next to Nagano station; good size room (for Japan); very comfortable; very good mattresses; nice bath to relax in after a long day; convenient laundry room.

Everything. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in Japan. But it is a given with Richmond. They always offer more spacious rooms, cleaner and brighter then most of the hotels. The view was incredible. The room was super spacious. The bath was great. Very quiet. The location is unbelievably good. I am seriously impressed and grateful for such a perfect stay at Matsumoto.

Walking on socks and yukatas is great!!! Breakfast was amazing. Onsen, was really nice as well, both men and women. Room was quite big for Japan. 6min walk from the train station! I will for sure recommend and return when possible. View from our room was also great and the sound isolation is very good.

Love a good dormy inn. It feels so homely. Loved the pjs, loved the care and consideration with the onsen, ice blocks and ramen late at night. Bed was comfy. Staff were lovely. Super cool town too.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The location is great - on the road to Zenkoji temple and close to the station. The room was comfortable and a decent size - nice to have a sofa and table.. The breakfast was brilliant - loads of local delicacies plus the usual Western stuff. And the views from the 16th floor breakfast room. Wow.

Surprisingly good value for the price I paid. New, clean, friendly staff - nice bath and good in-room massage service.

That makes us feel like home, great hospitality. Best stay so far even tho this is our 5th trip to Japan

I love everything about the hotel, except the bed. I'm 180cm tall and the bed was too small for me. Other than this, all was exceptional.

Extremely close to the train station, trains are not heard in the room. Very big room. Excellent breakfast.

Great location super near the train station (if you use the shortcut), close walk to downtown area of Nagano where you can explore shops. Staff delivered fresh towels daily which felt like a luxury. There is also a coin laundry machine at the hotel for use

Pleasantly surprised. Helpful and friendly staff, room and bathroom were very clean, onsen was ambient and also very clean, breakfast was buffet style and fine. Location was fine, no complaints. Overall very satisfied.

Fantastic location, the hotel is only a 4 minute walk from the station. We had planned many day trips so being so close to the station made the days so much smoother. There are loads of shopping and restaurants near the hotel as well. I am happier we stayed so close to the station, as opposed to closer to Zenkoji Temple. Rooms were clean, warm, quiet and very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful too. The breakfast was an amazing bonus too! The offerings varied slightly everyday. It was a great mix of Japanese cuisine and some Western breakfast foods like pastries. I enjoyed getting to taste Nagano specialities like soba and local apples. The hotel also offered takeout boxes to make your own takeaway breakfast. This is fantastic if you have an early start and don't have time to sit in and eat. Loved the room and the view. I would recommend booking here!
