Staff super friendly, you could pay to have breakfast which was really good: toast, eggs, juice, yogurt and coffee! The shared room was big and clean. Location: excellent It is an old house, so of course the wood would make nose, so just keep that in mind, the place would never be that silent. Really loved this hostel!

The location is beautiful. Even though it’s outside of the city, it’s easily accessible by train and then cable car. The location is perfect to enjoy some hikes, visiting the temples and the amusement park, and relax in peace. Plus, the view from up there (and from the rooms) is amazing! The staff is also very nice and helpful. Even though we didn’t speak the same language, we managed to understand each other and they always made an effort to explain me stuff or to give me recommendations about what to visit. The traditional Japanese breakfast was an experience on its own, I’m so happy I tried it. The place cannot give you all the comforts of a hotel, but it doesn’t even aim to do that. Instead, it’s a place where you can learn about history and traditions and relax in compete peace!

Surprisingly good mostly everything, very spacious room, clean, good size bed and very comfortable. Very nice and comfortable bathroom too. We didn't really met with the hosts but they had a great system getting the keys with clear instructions. We're certainly very happy.
