Clean, fantastic location, excellent customer service, free cultural activities, stayed in a private tatami room with private bed it was a great experience for us (they have private rooms with beds too). There’s a public bath, enjoyed the origami activity and cosmo play, did not get the chance to do calligraphy. 10 minutes walk from nearest train station, very central location, well equipped shared kitchen facilities if you want to heat up or prepare meals. Very close to deer park (it’s a huge park), right next to Sarusawa pond which you can enjoy while having coffee at starbucks (lovely starbucks location) . We found some same interests that we all liked so it was even easier to talk. Really really nice owners. You can also meet a lot of other people there from all around the world and I personally didn’t mind waiting for the bathroom. Breakfast was very delicious and always different! I really can’t say anything bad maybe my best stay in Japan until now and will try to come back again and see how my new friends are doing. You can rent towels or a toothbrush or bring your own. Nice and simple Japanese style accomodation. The futon was comparatively soft thanks to having two layers. Friendly staff and a small kitchen to make tea. Very nice for a short stay.
The Hotel is very stylish and modern. We rented the deluxe suite and it was tally worth it. The room was amazing and the views incredible. It's very well located as well, only 5min away from the Nara Park. The staff was also very friendly and even helped us get accommodations.
The accommodation was only a few steps away from the cable car station, making it accessible. Not only is the outside reminiscent of the traditional ryokan imagery but the inside is also beautifully decorated and maintained by the host. Flowers are freshly placed, baths are timed for guests' use, and the host is always there to make sure your stay is as welcome as possible.
This property is a gem! My family and I were visiting from San Diego and one of our stops was in Nara. Kyokosan made us feel at home with the breakfast, treats and hospitality she provided. It is also hard to find accommodations in Japan that are the size of western homes but this one is very spacious. I only wished we would have spent more time to be able to enjoy the home more.
The property is set in a beautiful peaceful forest. The accommodations are incorporated so aesthetically into the landscape. Every detail is very well done.
Our room was exceptional value for money in the middle of Nara. Large room with view to Pagoda. Easy walking distance to sights, restaurants, shopping and train stations. The staff were very helpful and fun with the extra activities. Nothing was too much trouble. This was out last stop in Japan before flying home. Nara was a great destination for 3 nights to finish our holiday. Don't just come for the day, stay longer in Nara.
Meals were top of the notch amazing. We were blown away with the service and accommodations. Lovely onsen, rooms were spacious and cozy will definitely stay again.
Bed comfortable - lovely to stay in a ryokan. Marginally stressful with rambunctious 10yo and paper walls! The owner was amazing and exceptionally kind. My husband needed medical attention and he rang around to find out what was open on public holiday and then drove him to hospital, translated and drove him home. Incredibly kind and far far exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much!
Location was ideal: adjacent to the JR Nara station, yet isolated from the hustle bustle. A well-appointed grocery store was nearby as was a Starbucks located in a historic building. Hotel was similar to other 3-Star accommodations in Japan; compact yet full of modern amenities. Property was recently rebranded as a Spa, yet I didn’t take advantage of low-cost public bathing facility. Having a separate laundromat with microwave and beverage machine were added bonuses. Room had a work desk. WiFi was robust.
