It was a mix of many pleasant experiences. The owners, a young couple with child, were really friendly and always supporting. The room on 2nd floor was tidy and clean. All equipment, bathroom, free coffee and tea were impeccable. The first floor was a stunning, private library and at the entrance they run a cosy caffee with self baken scones and cookies and spirit, if you're keen on in the evening. Local friends and customers gathered there, always a pleasant option to get in contact with locals or having a refreshing chat. The value for money is top notch, so is the atmosphere.

The sauna and hot spring facilities are fantastic! Highly recommend this hotel for that alone, as well as the very clean and peaceful environment and the delicious breakfast. Really great value all around.

Offering quiet street views, unsui 武雄蓬莱町 雲水 is an accommodation set in Takeo, 37 km from Huis Ten Bosch and less than 1 km from Takeo-Onsen Station. the apartment is beautiful and we felt very comfortable. the hosts were so nice and helpful, even gave us freshly baked cake and helped us plan our trip when trains didn’t drive because of heavy rain and gave us recommendations for our next stop.

Located in Arita, 20 km from Huis Ten Bosch and 5.7 km from Arita Porcelain Park, 続異人館 ZOKU IJINKAN Guest House provides spacious air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi. So cool to stay in an old, traditional house, which had everything we needed. Owner was super friendly and even had some free pottery we were welcome to take. (And he had great suggestions for where to eat nearby and even left us some instant ramen to eat, if we got hungry.) The futon heaters were great and definitely needed when a cold wind storm blew in!

Situated 400 metres from Nishinohama Beach, AKARIYA Hostel offers accommodation with a balcony, as well as a garden and a tennis court. A hot tub and a bicycle rental service are available for guests.... A pleasure to stay here. The owner is extremely helpful and always gracious. She speaks English very well, especially helpful to a solo traveler & first time visitor to Japan. She was kind enough to drive me to my nearby stay and to the bus stop.

The view from the room overlooking the river and bridge. Perfect for viewing the festival and fireworks. As a textile lover, I was very happy with the kimono shops in the street.

Situated just 47 km from Yoshinogari Historical Park, Guest House Maru provides accommodation in Kashima with access to a garden, a bar, as well as luggage storage space. Incredible guesthouse in a nice a traditional Japanese village, right by the train station also. Had the whole dorm to myself that night and was able to cook up a feast. Owner was so friendly and let me keep my bags after check out also.

Karatsu Seaside Hotel offers accommodation in Higashi Karatsu. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Each room at this hotel is air conditioned and is fitted with a flat-screen TV. The onsen pool on the rooftop was awesome. The spa facilities were huge. You need at least 2 days to enjoy all of them. The basic room without onsen was spacious with an ocean view. Breakfast and dinner at the buffet and restaurants were in good variety and quality with local ingredients. Will love to visit again
