From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed (with a small plate of dinner even, which they didn't have to, but showed their generosity and kindness!). We were also invited to spend Christmas with them and it was such a great experience. Our room was comfortable and we enjoyed the breakfast that was different everyday!

When i arrived early in the morning, i could go straight into the room and rest, It was very clean and it felt like a hotel, amazing hot shower, the staff is excellent, kind and helpful, nice terrace, good mattresses, i loved the place! The best hostel on my peru trip!

I staid two weeks instead of two nights, like I had first planned. Nancy, the hostess, is amazing and super generous. She invited me to try her homemade drinks and to her friend's birthday party at the hostel. She is also very knowledgeable about touristic things in the area and helped me find information about specific locations several times. The hostel is perfectly located, just a short walk from the central square. There are a few small shops just next to the hostel if you need and the street is very quiet at night. The room and bed is comfy, there are shared spaces and a small shared kitchen (in the back of the garden). There is a big courtyard and small garden, perfect for travellers with dogs (like me). The shared bathroom and toilet was always clean and the water in the shower was hot. The different breakfasts (for an extra fee) were delicious! Thanks/gracias/merci for a wonderful stay :)

Senor Sinecio and his wife were so welcoming & the room was so beautiful! The balcony has a lovely view over Leymebamba. It was spotlessly clean and large. The washroom had great hot water. Towels & bed linens were provided. Senor Sinecio had been part of the infamous Lagunas de los Condores archaeological excavation & preservation. His family has lived in the area for generations & he is likely descended from the sarcophagi retrieved from the site. He was able to tell us so much history - & to direct us to so many present-day resources. We stayed 3 nights but would happily have extended our time with them if we could have. One day, Senor Sinecio took us on a hike to La Congore. As Lonely Planet says, this really was an Indiana Jones type experience. We plan to return & take more expeditions with Senor Sinecio. He is a professional guide and has 4 horses (although we walked). He offers many tour options in the area. As a side note, Leymebamba has so many trekking options. Ask locally as most trails don’t show up on any of the apps like AllTrails or MapsMe

Great place to leave for Gocta in the morning, you can have the place completely to yourself if you leave early from here. A view to the waterfalls from the room and from the terrace and tiny humming birds flying around. And best of all Mario is a fantastic host and storyteller. Excellent value for money!
