Staying with Andreas and Barbara at the Plantation Faial exceeded all of our expectations! The hospitality provided by them was awesome - the room was very spacious, clean and we also got perfect breakfasts each day and if we ever had any questions about the Island, Andreas was more than helpful! The accommodation itself is very lovely, close by to Horta and you can also walk around the plantation freely and if you’re lucky, you might even spot mount Pico from your balcony :) If we ever return to Faial, we already know where we shall be staying :) To Andreas and Barbara - thank you once again for everything!

The unit was small but perfectly designed for maximum efficiency. Perfect for one - two people. Everything was well thought out including a cell phone in the unit for calls. There was also hand sanitation in outside hallway and in room. Bowl of fresh fruit , bottle of wine and macarons were put out for guest. Gina and Josue were wonderful hosts and were there if anything was needed. The hotel has an unassuming entrance , but quite nice inside. Good pizza restaurant very short walk from front door. Nice TV in good spot to watch from bed. Fridge , oven , cooktop , microwave and all dishes included in the unit. I would definitely stay here again. Frank Hernandez

The house is lovely and has wonderful grounds to enjoy. We had one rainy morning in which we read our books in the sitting room area, which was cozy and quiet. The breakfast was very nicely appointed as well. We had the family room, which was larger than we needed, but allowed us to spread out nicely. We would have liked to stay for longer!

If I could give a million stars I would. Genuinely. Beautiful house, the loveliest hosts I’ve ever met (and I stay in holiday rentals a lot), and the most beautiful views and grounds. Our daughter got to feed the goats and chickens and helped with the cows, and Lucia and Tony made pizza and cookies with us on our last night. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and generosity. We had honey from the bees and delicious eggs from the hens, and fresh bread every day. Truly felt better than a home away from home - because we don’t live anywhere near as stunning a place :) Highly and fully recommended. Our daughter and we will be talking about this stay for all our years. Thank you Lucia and Tony! We arrived as guests and left as friends 💕

Comfortable Accommodations: Casa BuonVento in Horta offers a guest house with free WiFi, parquet floors, and sea views. Some rooms include a private bathroom, work desk, and wardrobe. Everything was homey, thoughtful and tasteful in providing exactly what a traveller needs. Elena and Jerry were exceptional hosts and clearly run Casa BuonVento with care. They immediately grasped what I would enjoy in my short time in Horta, giving me such great suggestions I prolonged my stay in town! Elena continued to help me after my checkout. And Jerry’s art is something I wish I’d had more time to enjoy.

The yurt was everything we wanted and more. The breakfast was fabulous and the surroundings were perfect. If I could give 11 out of 10 we would! We will be back.
