Zoo was amazing, food provided on site and hire of bikes was also at a very reasonable price. Transport around the city is pretty appalling unless you have a car. Buses didn't adhere to timetables, that were rare to begin with.
Avoid parking in main street 1 hour only pretty silly when the goal is in the main street. Us as visitors should have allocated parking for tourist attractions without risking getting a parking fine something dubbo council should look at.
The main Shopping Centre and Cafes closed at 5.30. RSL Club is overpriced, compared to other RSL clubs in Bathurst, Orange, Penrith and Sydney. It is definitely not a RESORT standard Only a few Restaurants open for Visitors to eat in the Evening other than Fast Food places. The Dubbo Bowling Club puts the RSL to shame. Food there was great and view fabulous.
Dubbo ia place that is worth the trip. The friendly people make you feel welcome wherever you go. The Western Plains Zoo is a world class attraction but the OlD gaol is also worth checking out. There is great variety of sores and great cafes, pubs and restaurants. Eat at Milestone Hote in the cellars
The zoo generally, and in feeding the animals is a great experience though the food services for visitors still needs to improve. The gaol with it's animated marionettes and play acting was a good family day.
The zoo is awesome! We did the early morning tour which was great because the animals were really active. Got there at opening the next day - best time to see the lions and tiger. Dubbo has really good parks too. If you have young children don't miss the free water park in town. Although the shops are spread out, there are some good shops and galleries in town too.
