It was our first time visiting Emerald, we stayed with Abode37. And we loved it that much we extended our stay. The owner was excellent very friendly and extremely accommodating. The girl serviced our room and left us extra towels. It was quite and cosy, we had so much space . The bed & pillows were super comfortable... Highly recommended stayed with Abode37 Motel Emerald. Thank you for a trip we won't forget.

Loved the wide streets & centre parking.
Loved the wide streets & centre parking. Terrific tavern - the Mayfair, near the airport on Springsure road! Helpful staff @ tourist info centre. Visited Fairbairn Dam - interesting! Great brunch @ "Blah-Blah" cafe.

Lovely oasis in the Central Highlands that has everything...
Lovely oasis in the Central Highlands that has everything you need and the Botanical Gardens are a must-see. Also take a peak at the painting of the giant sunflower in Emerald.Lake Maraboon is nearby and we’ll worth a visit as are the gem field towns like Ruby and Sapphire. An hour’s drive away is the lovely town of Clermont where there is a wonderful museum that documents the history of the region. Great place to visit.

The traffic in Emerald is soooo much better than the capital cities particularly Sydney.
The only problem was the opening hours if the Suncorp Bank - 9.30am to 2pm Monday to Friday. I would love to work those hours. lol. Then they were not that helpful when I managed to catch them open.
Hint- it’s a country town, don’t expect the world because they won’t have it.
Prices are also elevated because they think everyone works in the surrounding mines. Lots of international people working there which can sometimes be difficult to make yourself understood. Not a bad place though.
