SwedenBasically everything perfect. Very well equipped apartment, nothing at all missing. Air con worked perfect, as well as the WiFi. Super nice host. Distant from Bridgetown but easy access by not the least the frequent minivans (3D will get you all the way, passing also Oistins). Would not hesitate to come back.

IrelandThe place was amazing and so clean. Patricia and her son were so friendly and helpful. They are the nicest people we met. The place is very close to the public transport and the shops, the pool and patio area were lovely to relax at we spent a lot of time there Would definitely recommend this to family and friends. It was very busy with lots of bars and restaurants though almost everywhere was fully booked. We did not hear the music and bars in our room.
If you like a lot going on then this may be the place for you, too noisy for me.

From the moment we arrived, their hospitality set the tone for the entire stay. They strike the perfect balance between being attentive and giving you space, always available with thoughtful recommendations, local insights, or simply a friendly chat. It’s clear they genuinely care about their guests and take pride in making sure everyone feels welcome and at home.
The location itself has a unique charm that’s hard to put into words. Tucked away in a peaceful setting, The Pool House offers a sense of calm and privacy while still being perfectly placed to explore the best of Barbados. Waking up to birdsong, lush greenery, and soft island breezes felt like a daily reset. The pool area is a standout—beautifully maintained and incredibly relaxing, whether you’re starting the day with a quiet swim or unwinding in the afternoon sun.
What truly elevates The Pool House is how seamlessly the warmth of Anthea and Nick blends with the character of the place. It doesn’t feel like a generic holiday rental; it feels personal, thoughtful, and deeply connected to its surroundings. Every detail, from the comfort of the space to the atmosphere they create, reflects care and authenticity.
We particularly enjoyed the home-made treats created from home grown and locally sourced ingredients, nothing was too much trouble.

I was there to board a cruise.
I was there to board a cruise. The town is bustling and lively. And there are two historic sites worth a visit--the George Washington House, and the 17th century synagogue, still standing and fascinating, built by Jews who had to leave Brazil when, after the Portuguese recaptured part of the northern territory which the Dutch had previously conquered, returned. When that happened they brought the Inquisition back with them. As a result many of the Brazilian Jews moved to Barbados, where their skills in growing sugar helped Barbadians improve sugar production in their island.

We got married here 33 years ago at Silver sands so it is a special place for us.
There are local buses every 10 minutes for getting around you pay 3 dollars each and you can go as far you want it’s a cheap way to travel. The area has plentiful beaches can be windy but that’s in itself can be welcome in the heat.
There are a few shops mainly like a corner shop at home and places you can buy ready cooked food.
The locals are friendly people always give you a wave and smile.
The beaches here have white sand and blue seas making picture perfect backdrops.

The hotel was too far away to walk to anywhere else. The hotel beach is a public beach. The hotel has not yet developed anything on the beach other than two bench tables. The sea is quite rough. Cockroach in the room. Food awful, service terrible. Asked to change a $100 bill. Said that I couldn't. Asked why... because it is Sunday! After complaining and seeking a senior person they changed the money. We had booked a cruise and was due to return after the the cruise for 4 more nights. I asked to cancel that booking. Was told to do it myself online... charming!

Amazing people, great food.
Amazing people, great food. Cuzz fish stand and Savvy on the bay great for food, getting around the public buses costs $3.50 BBD, activities on the other hand tends to be on the expensive side but highly recommend the shipwrecks and turtle excursion, rum punches will definitely give you punches.

Christchurch is a really nice mix of local people and tourists.
If you want restaurants, bars, and clubs then go to St Lawrence Gap that part is quite touristy.
Miami Beach in Oistins is my favourite as the locals go there at dawn to get their daily exercise. You can eat in the Oistins Fish Fry where there is so much choice. Breakfast at Surfer Cafe's where they have great coffee. There is also loads of bars and they love kareoke.
The town centre Bridgetown is where the big shops, banks, and the market is.
Getting around is easy the buses are BBD 3.50 and the taxi are not too expensive

The clean air not built up like Christ Church, too much hustle and bustle. I woke at 3 to start work at 4 o’clock I was working UK hours. So peaceful and quiet the first hour went so fast then sun rise around 5 and locals started moving around to start their day. You always get a good morning and a hello. I cooked for myself but had 2 meals locally at The Crane Hotel, 1st meal was to celebrate a 100th birthday, 2nd meal was with a friend who is now living on the island, The Carriage House is the best at Crane Hotel.
I think I would avoid Town I only went to get chocolate which is dairy free.

Brigetown is lovely,i like all the old architectural buildings,clean,people were friendly...Chefette was relly good place to eat at and reasonable...The bus tour was great.and the mini van are easy to get just find out the no on the van for which area your going.
