Ottie is a hidden gem. I did not expect as much for such a resonable price. Our hostess was very friendly and provided all information we need. House is exactly like on updated pictures and it has everything you may need while your stay. House was very clean and has a lot of space also it was in very good condition. Guest has access to backyard where laundryroom is located so you can even wash and dry your clothes. It is located very close to bus stop and not far away from Holetown and Speightstown which are more commercial towns with lots of bars and restaurants. Also beach is like 5 minutes away witch bars and sunbeds. I am very picky if it comes to choose a place for stay during holidays but Ottie checked all the boxes.

We had such a wonderful time at this place! It truly had the vibe of a home away from home. Falling asleep to the sound of birds and being surrounded by a garden was pure calmness. We loved relaxing with the door open and listening to the sounds of nature. You’re already awake and getting ready to enjoy the gorgeous paradise beach, which you can reach in just a 10-minute drive with golden sand and crystal-clear waters. The person who welcomes you is the most important part of the experience and Kelvin was more than helpful with everything! Creative, always quick to respond, happy to help with any questions and with such a lovely human vibe. You can really feel this energy in the way the place is created. The house has character and that is so important. We stayed for one week and ended up extending our stay! Keep creating and preserving this authentic local style with such warm hospitality.

The location of this apartment was wonderful, through a gate, along a little path, through another gate and we were on the beach next to the Fairmont. The buses went along the road behind the house, so it was easy to travel to Holetown and Speightstown for shopping and eating out.

The location was quietly tucked away and close to the most beautiful coast. St James as everything needed and is just so beautiful and friendly. 15 minutes from the town and a great drive anywhere being on the coastline.

Holetown is great, lots of reasonable places to eat aswel aa high end. The beach is beautiful but they have let too many boats and jet skis use the beach to park on which impacts the ability to snorkel safely around the reef. Be careful. We hired a car but there are plenty of buses to get around on. The chattel village is lovely with some nice shops for souvenirs but the best thing is the people, they are lovely.

Beautiful area. the beaches in this area are gorgeous. Waters on this side of the island are calm, compare to the southern part of the island. Pristine clear and warm sea. Public transport in this area is easy to navigate and very affordable, so you can do beach hopping while in St. James. we tried different beach each day. plenty of good restaurants in the area. you can try some of the fancy restaurants, but there are also cheaper options.

many restaurants, great supermarket at Holetown which is very near, great beaches and beach bars. Thunder bay beach club has plenty of tables loungers. Thursdays and Sundays great steel band played by Sunshine starting 4 pm. fantastic atmosphere. Next door simone's place you can get jerk chicken and pork ribs great luncheon spot. Yellow busses are often but very noisy so dont recommend taking them to Bridgetown or ostins and during end of school times. they are Ok short distances. Public busses (blue ones) great goes everywhere has air condition. Restaurants The view and next door Jerk chicken, Tides, randy ram are some of the more higher end restaurants and you can get food after 7 pm - may require booking

St. James is half way up the west coast and in my opinion...

St. James is half way up the west coast and in my opinion one of the best areas in the island. Bridgetown and The Gap are 20 mins away on the bus if you want a lively time – equally the north of the island is 20 mins the other way with bays such as Thunder Bay, Mullins and Speightstown all on the bus route. Having done a days tour around the island if you want smart bars, designer shops and a chilled time, then St. James is the place.

There wasn’t one thing we didn’t like about our stay here. Would definitely return here if back in Barbados. Even although full and high season the place was quiet with no rush for loungers. It was central for restaurants and the big supermarket is about a 15 min walk away. A small beach a 10 min walk away was sublime. No one was ever on it. The reception staff should get a special mention for the friendliness and helpfulness. .

Lovely comfortable beds and the hotel was spotless. Lots of choice of drinks. Andrew one of the ambassadors was fantastic, couldn’t do enough for us. Stunning views from our balcony and it’s a nice peaceful hotel. Well stocked mini bar in the room. Location is great but due to previous storms the beach wasn’t very accessible towards Sandy Lane so we couldn’t do much walking in the beach.
