Lugano is beatiful, especially the lake side. There are two downsides, however, one is that restaurants are very pricy comparing most of Europe and that in high season, it is difficult, if not impossible, to find decent accommodation for fair price.

Lugano is a beautiful little town. I liked that it wasn't too touristy. However, apart from some city strolls and museum visits there's not much to do in Lugano. Great for 1 or 2 days, but it's worth planning to hike in the nearby mountains or make day trips to other towns nearby.
