Xangai és un centre econòmic i comercial, una gran ciutat, molt extensa, molt ben comunicada amb una bona xarxa de metro i amb unes excel·lents infraestructures. Té diferents elements turístics que la fan atractiva pel viatger; la seva arquitectura, temples, jardins , algun edificis històrics i una bona i variada oferta gastronòmica. Malauradament hem vist com alguns barris antics històrics estan tapiats i en procés de desaparició i molt probablement seran transformats en nous gratacels.
