Very good location - near the University where I had a scientific conferfence.
The only disadvantage was that the bus drivers went on strajk but of course this is not a fooult of the property owner.
Fortunately there is a local train station very near to the property so it was not a problem.

I like almost everything in this hotel and would definitely recommend it. However, if there's anything I would suggest, I would say that if the shower curtain could be upgraded to a glass door, then this hotel would certainly have a 4/5 star standard in the room!

The property and views across the Ratzeburger See are outstanding. Great location just 10 mins to Ratzeburg and 20 mins to Lübeck and the little Imbissbude at the bottom of the property is very convenient for a quick snack. Like how they say Moin (morning) at all times of the day. :)
Wonderful and would highly recommend it to friends, family and anyone reading this review.

Second vitsit. One winter one in summer. Both fabulous.
Beautiful place to explore. Boutique unique art and cloths shops, on the water. Must do, Hire a small boat and take a picnic, Travel around the City and see the beautiful churches and houses from the water. Around 40 Eu for 3 in a boat for 6.....best value and really lovely to do Electric Boats so super quiet.
The Hansa Museum is AMAZING. The history, the trading which was a pre European Union we might need to revisit! Great links to London and ...Bury St Edmunds. There is a real affinity between Lubeck and East Coast of England.
Catch a concert to a choir in one of the b|eautiful cathedral. Fantatsic Curry Restaurant near the end if town. Afgan restaurant in a courtyard is a secret find with delicious food.

Sorry to say but hotel needs a lot of repairs/upgrading.
Sorry to say but hotel needs a lot of repairs/upgrading. Drains didn't flush properly in our shower, beds have wheels under them (why?), no aircondition, wi-fi didn't work and all thet way decoration was from 80's.

A charming little town.
A charming little town. It is true that the city is full of history, but the beauty goes beyond the hundreds of years. The pubs, the people, and the charming streets are a must, and absolutely worth the trip.

Lubeck is superb for its literary (Gunter Grass and Thomas Mann)and historic interest ( terrific museum of Hanseatic trading associatioons)not to mention the Xmas markets and marzipan and the churches and museums ..was a bit disappointed that the Thomas Mann Buddenbrooks house is not yet ready to reopen for visitors till 2029 or something like that..but there's an exhibition in the museums to keep visitors informed about Thomas Mann ..the churches have wonderful monuments and art inspite of the awful ww2 damage ..also great cafes and restaurants.. you can't eat at the Kartoffel Cellar unless booked several years ahead!! So we didn't go there..they need to open another branch! Niedeggers Marzipan and Cakes and Coffee delicious..we went when the Xmas markets were on which are great fun and did the boat trip on the Canal and Travemunde..would like to visit in summer and see what it's like on the beaches..it was too wet and raining this time to walk far onthe beaches..we had a great lunch on the boat to Travemunde and took the bus back to Lubeck ..we also went to the opera and saw Hansel and Gretel by Humperdinck..we should have visited the puppet theatre show and the magic show but ran out of time!
