A nice "grandma"style apartment in a block building. Warm & clean! Great for a family as it had plenty of beds. Very quiet (we had closed windows as it's winter though). Excellent value for the money.

It was my second time staying in this hotel. I liked it previously, therefore I booked it for my second visit. My main requirements were breakfast, free parking and free WiFi in that particular order. And hotel fulfilled my expectations.

THe town square has a fountain with statues of kissing Students, the city has lots of museums, you can walk around the city, there is a beach, next to a lake close to the river, which in the summer is a great place to be, as you can swim, or, just sunbathe there, as its a great place to be.
there are also lots of cafes, and restaurants that do special offers between 12 pm to 3pm, with certain set menus, and they are great to have to eat, as done it a few times.

Absolutely fantastic small, green, walkable city with a great young studently attitude combined with lots of arts. Poets, writers dramatists who had come from there.
I found learning all about them while strolling leisurely around their city fascinating. I, personally, really hope to return there soon.

Tartu is the intellectual capital of Estonia and has some great museums. Eesti Rahva Museum is a must go. A fantastic history of Estonia and the finno-ugrik peoples. Vanemuine opera is good and good value. Loodus museum is better than Tallinn.
