Actually Soto del Barco is a very tiny village.
Actually Soto del Barco is a very tiny village. There is a paved path leading to a "castle" which is very amenable (the path, the castle is private), and then you can walk 2km to the beach of Los Quebrantos, which is splendid. The walk is by the road (so no risk at all).
The views from the hotel "Palacio de la Magdalena" are totally world-class. And the cook there is great. Book your table in advance.

San Esteban de Pravia is a quaint little harbour town. It is very picturesque. We stayed at the Gran Hotel Brillante and thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
We drove to the end of the road to where the Puerto Chico Restaurante is located at the end of the point. It is beautiful with lots of hiking paths to follow and walks along the breakwater.

I have nothing negative - it was exactly as described - even better. Anna our host was an absolute joy and could not have been more helpful. It’s a 10/10 and would go back anytime I return to this area. She gave us the best advice for authentic food and bars - nothing was too much trouble.

Quiet village with a real link to its industrial heritage through keeping key items on display in their original settings on the estuary. No industry now but a pretty place, good for walking and with a good choice of restaurants and bars.

Nice village with interesting history. Several local bars to have a beer or a bite to eat. A lovely cliff walk nearby to lovely beaches. Handy for local buses and trains. Nice local feel to the village.
