Sandrine and Ludovic were amazing hosts! They welcomed us like it was our own home. Loved the house it was spotless clean! Even better than the pictures. The area was a bit secluded we almost got lost for a second but there were signs on the road once you exit the highway. Parking on premises definitely helped and they had all the best suggestions of places to visit with a bunch of brochures to guide us through the city. Would recommend to everyone and i plan on visiting again very soon!

A small town next to the city of Avignon. Very beautiful and almost rural area. But be careful when planning to go to Avignon and plan ahead as busses frequent the city not very often (like every 1-3 hours)
We travel regularly as a family and for this year’s summer holiday decided to go on a three week trip around southern France to enjoy the many cultural highlights, picturesque villages, nice beaches and of course the good food and wines. Our first stop was at the “Sous les platanes” from where we wanted to explore Avignon and the Pont du Gare, which can both be easily reached from this quiet and all around lovely place. The room (“Garance”) including the bathroom was spacious, very nicely decorated and perfectly clean, offering all the amenities that you would expect. Outside there was a nice area where we would eat rich breakfasts, enjoy a late afternoon apéro or savor a home-made dinner prepared by Caroline and family from vegetables grown by a neighbouring farmer. (Nearby St. Rémy offers a wide range of restaurants as dinner is not typically offered as the B&B-label indicates) For us, the “Sous les platanes” stood out because you sense that people are at work who love what they do. This expresses itself in many ways like the attention to detail (e.g. free Nespresso coffee/tea all day, free small bottle of water on bedside table every day) but first and foremost in Caroline being the perfect host. She speaks English, French & Dutch and furnished us with countless great tips for our excursions and this without us even having to ask for them. In the morning, she would casually ask us what our plans were for the day to then come up with all these useful recommendations without ever being intrusive in any way. We can highly recommend a stay at the “Sous les platanes” whether you are travelling as a family, couple or individual.
We were in Avignon for 1 day in early April 2016. It was cold and windy, very windy. We drove from the Best Western on the outskirts of Avignon to a public parking place. We walked into the old town. Very nice but expensive. We did go inside the Palace of the Popes but did walk out on the bridge. We paid extra for the audio tour which was worth it.
A wonderful B&B. The Hosts were terrific. So friendly and caring. Breakfast was great with many things made by owner. Enjoyed every bit of the stay of three nights. They made great suggestions on our sightseeing itinerary and restaurants. Room was beautiful. Location is quiet and peaceful, which is what we wanted. Only ten minutes to Avignon.
