Great place. Super comfy with good facilities, such as complementary coffee machine. They had to switch our rooms so they gave us free drinks at the bar next door.

Location, central but very quiet. Comfortable beds. Surprisingly spacious. 11 o'clock checkout time. Owner sorted problem re cleaner within minutes despite not being in the Channel Islands himself and quickly compensated us for inconvenience. We expected it to be 'simple' so most things were fine. Alderney itself is stunning and interesting.

Perfect location for getting around the island.

Perfect location for getting around the island. Used A1 taxis for airport runs and a couple of trips up to St Anne's. Excellent service. Mostly dined in the Braye Hotel in the evening as it was such good food and excellent service. Very comfortable room (26) with a perfect view. We loved hring the bikes from Cycle and Surf - I am committed to electric bikes. Beaches and scenery are just wonderful. I sent photos to friends and one said it looked like the Maldives - high praise indeed. We picked up a booklet from the Information Point in St Annes which listed a number of walks - very helpful as you can plan shorter walks for mixed weather. We recommend Jack's for morning coffee and The Blonde Hedgehog for afternoon tea or dinner.

Alderney is a fascinating place to visit with a wealth of historical attractions and great for wildlife too. Give yourself enough time to fully explore. The coastal walking path is excellent as are the trips organised by the Alderney Wildlife Trust. Recommend the Braye hotel and the Georgian house hotel.

Loved it - Alderney has unique quality (having visited Guerney, Jersey and Herm) it's quite unlike the other channel islands - some people have even compared it to Cornwall, but I think again it's quite different. The pace of life, especially in St. Anne, is much more relaxed and the people are among the friendliest I've ever met. The island varies so much and is perfect if you like doing loads of walking and exploring, (especially if you love history). I'd highly recommend taking a local taxi tour to get your bearings. I would say the only down-side of visiting the island is you can sometimes have problems with the airline (as I did on the way back and instead got transfered to a ferry, although to be fair to Aurigny they did plan everything well and arranged for a taxi to take me to Guernsey airport for my transfer and rebooked me on a later flight.

An interesting place to visit, with an extraordinary historic and architectural heritage, excellent walks and wild places. Extremely friendly people, and a relaxed way of life. However, because the harbour was closed, we had to stay on the island a good deal longer than we planned, and so did run out of different things to do.
